It's my generation too. but the point remains. You like one kind of music, doesn't mean any other kind sucks. And your problem with rap is that you are generalizing and assuming what you will hear on the radio is the best is has to offer. We'll opt with "ignorance" on this one, especially if Soulja Boy is the first name you throw out there to make any sort of point. There is a ton of great rap music, and a ton of extremely talented people out there. Problem is, like with many genres, those aren't the people you hear everywhere you go. Popularity and talent don't always go hand in hand.
You had me on your side, but then you went overboard.

It became vapid, senseless and extremely commercial. It has not evolved over the last 20 years. I could write most of that nonsense and create it all on my keyboards and computer.

I want some Seek And Destroy Metalica! Not a fan of post And Justice For All. I like the Thrash Metalica.
My buddy often says the real Metalica died in a plane crash in 1988, and some imposters took the name, and started making crappy music!
I'm with you on that one. There best albums by far are Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, And Justice for All & The Black Album. In my opinion Load is good and is underrated due to old Metallica albums. ReLoad was terrible but had a few good songs. I was not a fan of St.Anger but I did love there album Death Magnetic. They are by far the best concert I ever saw and I've seen a lot of classic Metal & Rock bands.

I don't really like the Black album, or Load, or those tail end albums.
Don't get me wrong they aren't horrible for a Rock band, but I'm all about those first four!

Those first four is what got them out there but the Black Album made them huge with all the commercial success it had when it was released all the way back in 1991 especially with that classic hit single Enter Sandman but one of my favourite songs by Metallica is Blackened but if you asked me what my favourite song of all-time by Metallica is I would say Fade to Black

Yeah Metalica didn't get barely any radio airplay before the Black Album in 91.
After that came out though a lot of the older songs started to get radio airplay like One, Master Of Puppets, Fade To Black, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Seek And Destroy.

Fade to Black is my all-time favourite Metallica song. It is such a kick ass song
Ahhhhh, but have you ever heard it done on violin?
Reminds me of Metallica's album with the San Fransisco Symphoney. It was a great one also it's called S&M check it out if you have not heard it before and tell me what you think.

Will do, I love classical arrangements of rock and metal. Garrett actually does "Nothing Else Matters" too (I think it's better than MOP), but I couldnt find a high-quality Youtube.

Deep Purple did one with a symphoney as well it was kick ass. I will have to check out this Garrett guy.

There is a lot of great music in any genre. Problem is you just have to search harder and harder for it as the genre gets more popular. Don't want to sound all hipster about it, but that's really what it has become the last few years. I used to listen to a lot of rap, but barely do anymore because there is just too much crap drowning out anything worthwhile. Gets too difficult to find and I just let it go in terms of finding new stuff. But just because its harder to find doesn't mean its not out there.
And if I ever agree with Muttley, I tend to vacate the thread too, so I can't blame you on that one.
Saying you "agree with Muttley" and then "vacating" a thread because of it is a badge of honor for me. You all should know that. Is this like publicly announcing that you are so important because you have Muttley on your "ignore" list?
But this thread was actually moving right along until the marketing, financ e, real estate, tax, political and now 'musical expert' decided to interject. At least we weren't thrown around the "well I have an MBA therefore...."
This is like the making fun of the latest NYG Bowl run and refusing to tell us the particular NFL team you follow.
So tell us, what music do you personally prefer or would like to here?
I'd like to hear more thrash metal, but no Metallica. Metallica is so commercialized and overplayed. Maybe give the Swedes some love with some older In Flames. Throw in some early Megadeth. Some Suicidal Tendencies. Some intense music with a frenetic pace to it.

Well for starters, there's clearly a reason why you are in fact on so many people's ignore list.
But you shouldn't get so frustrated when people don't take your troll bait.

Metallica went commercial after the Black Album they are my favourite band though. Megadeth is amazing they were a really good concert when I seen Megadeth with Motorhead on Gigantour this past Febuary. Both bands put on a good show but if you want thrash metal Anthrax and Slayer are the way to go. For Hair Metal I've found myself listening to a lot of Ratt lately.

I really love their first two albums especially Kill em all. Never loved Seek and Destroy but I love Four Horsemen, Phantom Lord, Metal Militia etc. Ride The Lightning album I also really loved but for some reason Master of Puppets just had such a different feel from their first two albums at least for me.
