Did Conboy only sign a one year deal? I thought he could fight heavies..although he was injure for so long last season

Blood, Kramer, Conboy, possibly Boro, DD...toughness is the least of our worries in Bingo. It's all about some veteran leadership

The whole discussion is laughable--that's the point.

Plus, sportsmanship awards in the WHL don't always translate to the NHL. The playing style is more tighter checking than in the O, so you're always drawn into skirmishes, but outside of that, it's a lot of "Howdy, howdy, howdy." so tempers don't rise too high.

The W doesn't produce douches like Pronger.

This is all false. For some recent names, look up Brad Ross, Kyle Beach, Garet Hunt. You have an outdated view of the Dub.

Haven't been able to catch many Sweden games at the WC...

How has Silfverberg been playing for those whom have been following the tourney? Trying to steer away from statistical biases (1 G).

Any eyes on him lately?

I haven't watched any games, but I read in a thread he was demoted to the fourth line. People have been saying he clearly is out of gas and the super long season has taken its toll on him.

Got a lesser role as the tournament progressed, played on the fourth line the last game. Didn't get a whole lot of opportunities from the coach in the latter stages but can't argue against that too much, either, since there were some good players there and Silfverberg didn't blow anyone away with his play. Still, could've had a nicer stat-line with a few bounces and less goofing around against the lesser nations. An OK tournament for him, I'd say.

Off topic, but does anyone know if the Sens have ever had a prospect win the Memorial Cup? Besides Jared Cowen.

Recently.. Other than Cowen the closest we've had was Mark Stone in 2010 when the Wheat Kings were thrashed 9 - 1 by the Windsor Spitfires.

Weircioch hoping to make the team, hints at the seriousness of last years throat injury:
http://www.ottawasun.com/2012/05/24/...oice-of-reason

I’m not going to disclose (the extent of the damage) fully,” said Wiercioch, who was at SBP with one of his best friends, Senators centre Kyle Turris, to help promote Saturday’s monster trucks show. “I had a pretty serious fracture in the back of my neck, and from that just a lot of internal bleeding that was cause for a little panic and worry. For the first couple of weeks my biggest concern was the vocal cords, and how they were affected, and not being able to talk for about 14 days, give or take. Communicating through text with the girlfriend (Kresson), with Kyle, when we Skyped it would be just the chat.

“Injuries happen, they’re part of the game. I’m fortunate God had an angel around me, and it wasn’t worse than it was.”

As it was, Wiercioch lost almost three days of his life.

“The injury happened Friday and I woke up Monday,” he said. “When I checked my phone, it was a little bit of a shock to see Monday pop up on the screen.”

Wiercioch really needs to put in the work and put on some muscle this summer.

Having Turris here now really is going to help Wiercioch I think. They grew up playing together and are going to both want to play on the Sens so they'll probably be pushing eachother hard all summer. Thats what I'm hoping for anyways.

They are both currently running strength training programs all summer in Ottawa, they will both be stronger come camp.

Thats awesome. Getting Turris is the best thing that could happen to Wiercioch imo. Extra drive to play in the NHL with a childhood friend.

Absolutely, also being around the team during the summer a little more always helps. I was told Stone was a chump in the gym until Neil and Kelly showed him a few things, now him and Zibby are physically in great shape and word is a lot of the Sens have excellent training habits while others (filatov kovalev) didnt.

Futures bright, adding Turris to Patty will help both their careers.
