So you didn't listen to the segment, but you somehow feel qualified to make assertions about the quality of the questions that were asked?
Ok.
It's an assumption because of the questions that I've heard jeremy and howard ask when he's been on the show in the past.
He gives a bs answer and they roll over and go onto the next question without putting the slightest bit of pressure on him.
If fans called and we're actually given the opportunity to put pressure on him then kudos. I was just going off what I heard in the past.
Still doesn't mean I'm okay with bailing on a press conference to end the season like they did last year. They have no problems showing their faces when times are good, but their players are forced to face the media at the end of the season and others in charge go on a radio show at 8am in the morning after a down right horrendous season.
Heck, people even posted the last few days about whether he would show up today or not given that the season was over.
Haters gonna hate.....
On a tangential note, people should check to see how long it took Mike Ilitch to turn the Red Wings into a model franchise.
Ilitch bought the Wings in 1982. They didn't win a playoff series until 86-87, didn't make the Finals until 94-95, and didn't win the Cup until 96-97.
Some people around here want Ilitch-like results overnight.
They set the mile High expectations. Not me.
A GM and a Head Coach together for 14 years with a core group of players that they both brought in shouldn't need ANYTHING else to make it into the playoffs. They both back these guys and yet people want to think that it's okay to follow a 30 year old Red Wings model.
I'm a hater because I wanted a set structured press conference like they have every other year? I'm a hater because I'm pissed off they missed the playoffs and want to hear tough questions asked? I'm a hater because I don't bow down to every word that comes out of their mouths?

No one wants to hear what Coach Teflon thinks of Roy and Vanek's comments?
Totally unacceptable...there's a lot of questions those two should be answering right now.
As they mentioned with Black, Ruff did cancel his weekly radio show this week.
I think one point Black was missing with the whole "we are only judging them on the last 15 months" thing is that not only have the fans been around with these guys longer, but the players have as well. Messages get stale, players tune coaches out. It's not like Lindy Ruff became a new guy for the players 14 months ago.
On a more positive note though, the message here was a big change from last summers "Lindy ain't going nowhere" lovefesr. He said that Ruff has to be better, in Blacks words "we need people to be not good but great.". I gotta think this is Ruffs last kick at it. I hope.
The purpose of a press conference in general isn't for the fans; it's for the press. So what if Mike Harrington or Bucky Gleason can't grandstand and act tough in front of a webcam. If they want to ask Pegula or Ruff a question, they can pick up the phone. They can walk the block and a half down the street.
If the Sabres refuse to make people available to ask questions, which is their right, then they can write that in the paper, and fans can make their own judgements from that.
The media has you guys snowed that a presser is some fan based theater, and it's just not the case.
Really? I plunk down over 2k on this team every year, some answers from the coach would be nice. I don't really care but I could see why people would.
If you have a problem with it then don't spend your money. You CHOOSE to go to games and buy merch and if you don't want to any more hundreds of fans would take your place at the arena in a second. That 2000 dollars doesn't give you a right to anything. Just the privledge to sit in a seat and give the team your money.
Wow you guys are hilarious. Apparently I should bow down to the Sabres and say "Thank you! Thank you for the privilege of letting me spend my money on you!" This seems to be a permutation of the "you should be glad you even have a team" argument that is usually used for the Bills.
I don't care one way or the other if they have an end of the year press conference. I'm not mad enough to cancel my season tickets. I just want to hear Ruff answer some questions is all. He even cancelled his radio show this week. I want to hear what he has to say about Roy's comments, the fact that he berated the team and put them through the year's hardest practice before a meaningless game, etc. I think the fans have that right.
