Before This Season, _________ Was Unthinkable

I'm talking about things that you LITERALLY did not even think about this team achieving.

This season has changed a lot of our hopes an expectations for the present and the future. With that said, I thought I would be fun to see just how much our expectations of this team have changed.

I'll get the ball rolling.

Before this season, winning the East's best record was unthinkable.

Before this season, going 6-0 against the Flyers was unthinkable.

Before this season, having a good powerplay was unthinkable...and it remains to be.

McDonagh stepping up and doing what he's done was unthinkable. at least at this point in his career. pretty impressive for a 2nd year defenseman...

Carl Hagelin would be one of the most important players on this team.

Scott Gomez scoring a goal

Ummm..... let's see what I complained about during the summer

Oh, ummm... how about... having very very few unreliable guys on the team in general. Last season, it was easier to point to this guy and that guy and point out defensive lapse here and there and offensive absence here and there but this season.... even with dubi being sort of an offensive... uhhh.... with dubi being dubi He's still very effective in his play away from the puck (there are negatives to elaborate on for dubi but that's not what this is about )

Ya, in general, I feel like this team is much more well rounded and we have solid effort from everyone and the accountability is pretty unreal.

I didn't expect the rangers to have so much success this year. I have been super-impressed with the team sather and company have built. but i really didnt expect them to dominate til next year at the earliest. i really love this team. so impressive. it has been a long time since i've been so excited for a sports team. theyre even better than those strong riley and van gundy knicks teams.

For Del Zotto to be amongst the league leaders in +/- for as long as he was and his overall comeback year

Truth to be told, I said we should finish 4th at worst, but that the division was not to be expected because Pitt would be hard to challenge.

The one player who really have exceeded my expectation is Hagelin (I never thought he would get a chance with Avery, Zucc and Wolski ahead of him on the depthcharts, and Kreider and co in the future).

And Gabby to some extent. Not in terms of stats, but the way he has fit in in a new role on the team.

..., playing a whole season as strong as we did, was [nearly] unthinkable.

This was by far the best regular season I can remember since 93/94.

Well, it would have to be "Say no to the Glass Man" Gaborik playing all 82 games, eh?

6-0 against the Flyers

1st in Conference

Hagelin being as effective as we was. Or even playing at all for that matter.

MDZ finding his game again. (i'll admit, i didn't think we would)

Me hating the Pens so bad i root for the Flyers (still shocked by this)

Before this season, Carl Hagelin being our top line wingers was unthinkable.

Also dubi playing as bad as he did all year and still finishing first in the east.
