It's not over until it's over!

Figure we need some sort of jump, as fans after last night.

Losing sucks, losing like that sucks, losing to flyers sucks, losing when you think you're on top sucks.

People seem to forget this is a 7 game series! This is why. Teams have their ups and downs, I honestly think that they will turn it around. Some adjustments have to be made for sure, so here's hoping they are!

Losing a come from behind game in the regular season is different then in playoffs, this has to end. even some Flyer fans are pointing out that their team has to come ready to play in the first because they aren't always going to be able to comeback like that.

Have faith friends, we can do it!

That being said,

Love that song, pretty fitting!

Lets go !

I still think Pens in 6. We are the better team with the better talent. If they use that game as a wake up call and play their best games then they will win the series.

Not even. It's only the first game! Sure it sucks to drop a game at home in a 7 game series, but we've pulled out of much worse situations before. A good point was also made on today's "Pens Report" on the official website: In the last 4 playoff rounds that they've won, the Pens have lost the first game in each.

I'm hoping this loss will be a wake up call for the Penguins that they need to bring their A game every night and that you can ever let up against another team in the playoffs.

We all know how our 3-2 series lead against Tampa Bay went last year

That being said, I am worried, but not giving up. Tighten up the D and DON'T LET OFF ON THE OFFENSE!!! Going 0/3 on the power play while allowing 1/1 for the Flyers is going to cost games.

Go Pens!!!

Yes, but it's the third time in the last three weeks they blew a two or a three goal lead against them. That's my problem.

no clue how anyone thinks we have a chance after that.

very very demoralizing for the boys.

I'll still watch every game, but i've seen too much hockey to ignore what happened.

We were a couple of bounces from winning that game, Staal's post, the bad goal for Brierre, etc. I won't be worried until, and if they lose Friday.

I think if they win Friday they take the series in 7. I think if they lose Friday they lose the series in 5.

Pens doing a lot of PP work again at practice and doing a lot of mixing and matching and changing positions. Curious to see what he tries tomorrow. Don't expect big changes but hopefully better positioning and spacing at least

Really? Yes that loss was a huge huge momentum shift for philly. Yet, if "you've seen too much hockey to ignore what happened" you should know that all it takes it a game 2 win of any sort. A blowout, Fleury standing on his head, etc.. to know this series will be back, in the minds of everyone, as a dogfight.

You can't get too high or low in the playoffs or hockey in general. Its game 1. Shifts in momentum won't allow for it. Look back at game 5 for the Pens in the 09 cup. That loss should have crushed the Pens. In response, Fleury plays great and they win game 6.

truth is, im a bridge jumper. i felt similar to when we were down 2-0 in a couple series.

this one just feels incredibly different.

i obviously hope to god im wrong. i love being wrong.

but im very skeptical about this year.

Honestly I'm not even worried. The Penguins just need to win next game. I'm looking at it as a Steeler playoff game, win or you go home.

im probably going to get shot for this but...

I don't know why the pens (and other teams really) do not try to score off the rush at all on powerplays. I understand the idea of sustaining offensive pressure to maximize opportunities but without someone like Gonch at the point who can rip it whenever, I just see our chances as weak, without a threat from the middle at all times.

So, my proposal is simple. Starting from our own zone, have only 1 man go back for the puck and hopefully beat the first forechecker with a stretch pass. Its risky but its not like we don't give up SH chances on the reg now. If the stretch pass works you have a 4-on-3 entering the zone. If you can isolate that to a 2-on-1 then you'll probably have a golden chance... I think a 2-on-1 is way more effective than our current PP especially with how well we've been scoring off the rush lately. Just a thought.

its not something to do all the time but if we see them forechecking hard on the PK then try to beat them on the rush.

Wow. There ARE a lot of bridge jumpers on the Pens board.

Buffalo fan chiming in and I've just got to say, I wouldn't bet against your team if you guys did go down 2-0. That said, you WILL win game 2 and my biggest concern for your overall chances this year is whether it's a playoff year when Malkin turns it on or one where he disappears.

It would be far too cruel for the Pens to lose this series after they (and us, the fans) have been compared unfavorably to Muammar Qaddafi.

Didn't Boston lose their first game at home last year?

I feel like this is some peoples first playoff series.

Lots of teams lose their first game and go on to have long playoff runs. People are just irrational. Simplest explanation is usually the best.
