The islanders insisted they wanted the chance to open the postseason on the road. The Flyers have given them a rude reminder of how tough life away from Long Island can be.

Mister 60th Stamkos scored two goals in his postseason debut, and Flyers held onto home-ice advantage by beating the Islanders 4-1 on Wednesday night to open their Eastern Conference playoff series.

"We know the next game's going to be a lot harder than this one," Flyers gm Silvan said. "We're OK with that."

Wow. Only series still going in the East. I'm sure the remaining Eastern teams are hoping this series goes seven so the eventual winner is even more fatigued.
