I don't mean to troll, but it's interesting to note I live in the US and have access to both games on multiple channels. I have the NBC cable channels and have Over-the-Air access to CBC Toronto and CHEX Peterborough.
But guys, cheer up. We JUST got every game on TV. Before we just had Versus, which was like having one playoff channel. Think having CBC but no TSN. Double-headers every night, but nowhere close to every game. It's two games. You'll survive.
HD stream? Have u seen CBC's online stream? Its ****ing atrocious
348 is NFL sunday ticket
Maybe they are playing it on the Sunday Ticket channel for free since they know there is limited access to CHEX
EDIT: apparently still not a universal channel. Don't know what to tell you guys. Streaming isn't that bad. I do it for most HNIC games as a Sens fan in Toronto.

CBC can hardly afford anything right now, including keeping a lot of their employees; I'm pretty sure people's complaints about the broadcast of a Bruins/Capitals game is the least of their worries.
Yeah they only get Over a Billion dollars of taxpayer money - Every year.
Plus all their Ad Revenue from CBC TV, Radio & their Websites.

It may sound like a lot, but they are continually making budget cuts. I'm guessing that if you compared it to the revenue that private broadcasters like CTV generate, it wouldn't seem so substantial.

The CBC is not a money maker.
Yeah because aside from their sports programing their programs suck. Little mosque on the prairie? Really?
Channel 348 is for Shaw Direct, their dish service.
I have Shaw Cable. It's a different service.
Indeed.
It's not on Shaw CABLE 348. It's on Shaw DIRECT 348. Shaw Cable will not be showing the game as they do not carry CHEX. I also see nothing on Shaw's Twitter about adding it so Shaw Cable users who want to watch that game are out of luck unless they stream it.

Not to mention the massive mismanagement.
Haha - well I don't deny that the scripted programming is terrible. Just pointing out that despite a billion dollars of funding, they aren't a big budget station.

One game starts at 7:00 EST, two start at 7:30 EST. One of TSN or CBC was going to have an overlap.
I feel I should repeat this..
If you only have basic cable, you weren't going to be able to see all the games, anyways. There is an unavoidable overlap, given the scheduled times.
Not that it matters, but the only legitimate complaints I see would be to blame CBC or TSN for not allowing a different channel to air them (even though that NEVER happens), or blame the NHL for scheduling these games at the times they did.
There are still ways to watch the games. Absolute worst case scenario, you could just suck it up and sit at your computer instead of the TV.
CBC has to operate within the rules outlined by CRTC. I don't think they can do stuff like that.
I called the CRTC to complain. They told me this decision falls solely on CBC. They could transfer it to TSN2, or Bold (not that I care about Bold, Shaw doesn't carry it anymore in BC). They can move it if they want to, but they're choosing not to.
I've already voiced my opinion with my local digital cable provider, they gave me a 70 dollar bonus for PPV's because i was so angry. That's nice and all for UFC or something, but doesn't change the fact that the game isn't aired, nor will game 3 be.
It's not your cable providers fault. The league in conjunction with the networks decide which games are shown in which regions.
The game will be showing on cbc.ca for those that want to stream it
