can we just get ready for game 2? the hit has been completely overblown. I think no suspension tells all we need to know. it was a dumb move by weber but I still love the fact he made zetterberg and the wings look like the ******* that they are... even better is they are too chicken **** to start anything in game 2

Yes, 5 years ago is the same as 50 years ago

The league is cracking down on head CHECKS, like the one that got Savard, Booth, etc. This battling in the corner stuff is not what the league has been stressing.

Attorney: He's channeling Macho Man Randy Savage... just ignore him and get to the details.
Shanny: Ok look Shea did he hit you in the head?
Webs: Listen BS-- I'm gonna call you BS-- he can't hit my head when he's picking up his jock now can he?
Attorney: That's a no.
Shanny: Back? Leg? Foot?
Webs: He stomped on my partner Jon Blum's foot.
Shanny: That was last year. Different team. Different player. You didn't even partner with Blum.
Webs: No way. He's a twitter-fa..
Attorney: <interrupts> It's a concussion.... let's just say Z hit Shea in the head ok?
Shanny: Got it. Did you say anything to him?
Webs: I said "Whatcha gonna do when Webermania runs wild over you".
Attorney: <interrupts> Typical game banter, no harm, no fou-
Webs: <interrupts>Then I started counting ONE, TWO, THR-
Attorney: <interrupts> Indicating the number of Preds goals scored last night. It's a Bridgestone tradition.

Shanny: Let's move on. Shea, did you intend to hurt him?
Webs: If I intended to hurt him, he'd BE HURT. He'd be hurt baaaaddddd. Bodybag bad. I shot a puck through the net, man. I can bring the heat.

<long silence>

Attorney: Hard to argue that one...
Shanny: Yep. Dang, he's a bad-ass.
Webs: Ohhhhhh yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh......
Attorney: Concussion. Can we suspend Z for this?

Shanny: Look I'm going to fine you $2,500 which represents .00000003% of your salary.
Webs: I can shake down Ryan Ellis for that in like six seconds...
Attorney:<interrupts> --friends may contribute to a support fund for him--
Webs: I made that p***y Phil Kessel give me 1Ok at the All Star Game-
Attorney:<interrupts> Players from other teams love the guy Shanny, they really do.

Shanny: Ok, let's wrap this up. Shea can I trust you to play up to the line but not over it for the rest of the playoffs?
Webs: As long as I get to draw the line with these 24 inch pythons bro...
Attorney: Shea appreciates the difficulty of your job and respects the integrity of the league. We're hanging up now and...
Webs: <interrupts> AND THE TITLE BELT IS COMING HOME FOR A RIDE ON SPACE MOUNTAIN, BABY!!!!!
This entire transcript is glorious. And the bolded part...well, it's true.

I'm surprised he didn't get a game, but I'll take it. No question in the regular season it would've been a suspension. Shanny himself said that in the regular season, he thinks of setting suspensions over 82 game whereas in the playoffs he thinks of 7-game chunks. So a 1-game suspension in a "7-game season" as Shanny called it, is 14% of the season. That's 11.5 games in the regular season. Does anyone really think this act was worth 11.5 games?

That, plus the reactionary nature of the play and the lack of injury to Zetterberg, is probably what was behind Shanny's decision. I don't know if I totally agree with it, and I'm surprised by it, but it benefits my team so I'll take it.

I just hope this doesn't affect the way Weber plays from here on out. We don't need him getting soft out of fear of suspension.

The rub for me is I liked Weber and I thought about how great it could be if he were a wing (Don't go down the Bertuzzi route because I don't cheer for him). the suspension thing, or lack of, densest really bother me either as Z wasn't hurt.

LOL@ the chicken comment..All the wings need to do is win..

tell that to the red wings fans who think there could be "retribution" tomorrow... detroit is one of the softest teams in the NHL and has been for years.

you're right, all they need to do is win. that's their retribution

I am so sick of hearing wings fans saying "oh we are going to rally behind this and dominate you! Going to headhunt your guys!"

Let's shut these *****es down. They suck.

The only thing that really bothers me is Bertuzzi and Kronwall. Those are two extremely dirty players and I am worried they are going to take liabilities... but I am not worried, we can kick their ***** on the scoreboard

The wings aren't going to do anything except some little slashes and cross checks here and there. They are to smart and too well coached to do anything stupid. It doesn't matter who crosses the line from here on out in the series Pred or Wing the next step is suspensions. By all means I hope Zetterberg or Kronwall do something stupid and get suspended.

Boneheaded play by Weber, should have resultet in 1 game suspension imo. Hope that wings retaliate in some way..can always say it was "in the heat of the moment"....Maybe Philly should use this vs Pittsburgh ...and do the same thing to Crosby, wonder if the ruling would be the same...

Preds need to come out and hit them even harder! Lay out Zetterberg and Hudler in open ice. Detroit is scared. Do NOT let up on the peddle boys. Fans lets get even louder tonight. RUN THIS TOWN!!!

I'm going to NOT use the term "classless" since it seems as though that is one of the few words HF Boarders all have in their respective vocabularies. I will say it was a pathetic move, and it absolutely should not have happened.

With that said, you can't say another play was any less dangerous or "disgusting" just because the league hadn't begun a crack down on head shots yet. That's like saying it wasn't as bad to drink and drive before your state began cracking down on drinking and driving. Obviously drunk driving is a MUCH worse offense, but it's the same principle. Either it's wrong and always was wrong, or it isn't and never was.

As far "another big juicy gift" is concerned, I'd like to see how many more "gifts" Nashville gets compared to other franchises. We've had to fight tooth and nail to keep our team here, and to strengthen it to the point that it is at now. Don't come around here telling us we are being given anything...

Apparently Andrei Kostitsyn "smashed" Weber's head into the glass yesterday during practice. Another example of those horrible Predators and their mockery of justice...

The Preds felt the punishment was nt severe enough so Trotz went the eye-for-an-eye path

Kind of like the whole "upperclassman taking your lunch money" thingy in high school. Builds character.
