Hartnell & Giroux move on in EA's NHL 13 Cover Vote

While logging into NHL.com today, I noticed that Scotty Hartnell actually DID manage to get himself into round 2 of the NHL 13 cover vote.

Giroux won clearly, but Harts managed to sneak in at the bottom of the page as a "Wild Card" selection.

Think EA likes the personality quotient here and is pushing for a little Philly action on the cover this season?

Interesting.

They just don't improve the game much anymore. We're on NHL 10.2 now.

Hartnell on the 13' cover would be hilarious! Insane trolling. And off topic, EA Is so much better than 2k sports.

EA is better at business, and that's about it. Because after EA bought the NFL license 2k pretty much ran out of money and resorted to paying children with Crayons to develop their sports games.

If you don't think this years NHL was a good game then you will never be satisfied with a hockey game EVER.

It's absolutely ridiculous to expect the game to be completely overhauled or to be changed as dramatically as you're expecting in less than a years time.

The games change enough in terms of physics, game play, te introduction of new modes and online features to keep the fans of their games satisfied until the medium has advanced enough for them to justify completely redoing the game. The ea NHL product is great. It's the best option available. Hands down. There's a reason why it's a lock for sports game of the year every single year.

They really do. They purposely sandbag the development to sell more copies and the game they produce is usually so flawed!

NHL for PC is dead. Why? One word; modders. The days when you could update the rosters the way YOU want, import your own uniforms, arenas, etc, when EA ****s off and releases the same game 3 years in a row with 1 or 2 "new" features and some new rosters/uniforms, you just buy one year and mod the **** out of it yourself and save yourself from buying two years of the same ****. And sorry, but their games have been ****. I own NHL 11 (haven't gotten 12 because the demo was basically the same game, and I've heard quite a bit about freezing issues with it) and it's "fair." The goalies are bad. REALLY bad. It's no fun to play a game, throw 30 shots on net and get two, and the computer has 9 shots and three. It could be a lot better. Even people who are in bed with the game have to admit that. The fact that it isn't better just proves they don't try to create a great product.

It seems Flyers fans are totally beasting the cover vote - Giroux and Hartnell are the top 2 vote getters so far.

EA SPORTS NHL ‏ @EASPORTSNHL
@28CGiroux @Hartsy19 #Datsyuk are Top 3 right now. "@TheReal_ABlank who are the leading voters for the cover?" #NHL13Cover
