Imagine if the Leafs ever get to Vancouver's level where they are always near the top of the entire league, they will get even more hate than what Vancouver gets right now.
And I think everyone would agree that the hatred is almost completely unwarranted, right? LOL. One day the Leafs will deserve their hate, and that's when they become an elite team again. But at this point it's really strange for other fanbases to hate such a bad team.

i think all of the votes comes from leafs fans, habs, and senators. Mostly leaf fans.
if you re read it, you'll notice that hockey fans actually love the leafs and the habs, apparently casual fans hate the leafs becuase they suck so bad?

Lot of people who don't even pay attention to hockey will mock the Leafs and act like they hate them because it's the 'cool' thing to do.

THIS ^^ That was my very first thought when I read the polls also.....lost all credibility. I also like how they distinguish polls between "hockey fans" and general population. For the hockey related polls, I would suggest that the only polls that matter if any are the ones which only included hockey fans. Who cares what non fans think?

SO Leafs are the most hated team by people who don;t know hockey and hear how fashionable it is to rip on the Leafs.
But when it comes to knowledgeable fans, they're the most loved????
