Well, you just keep on looking at numbers and such. The real world is run by people.
If you are suggesting that I care about results then you would be correct.
Having said that...the minute I heard the exit interview from Sutter I got the impression that there would be some discussion about the pending Head coach vacancy.
Is he a fit?
I think results should be a prerequisite for any discussion. I also think that its starting to appear like Tambo has an issue trying to find a coach that can spin his garbage into gold.
Here is a novel thought...maybe it isn't the coach after all.

The two aren't mutually exclusive dude
Stop with your hate-fest.
I think Lowe hiring Sutter for the WJC when the head coach of his own NHL team is available is a HUGE tell.
Exactly. Especially when Lowe was talking about looking for coaches with Hockey Canada experience and everything. I'm pretty sure that Renney has a lot more international coaching experience than Sutter, Boucher, and Muller.
Co-Coach? We aren't thinking of re-orchestrating that failed plan again are we, now? If anything, Sutter will head coach the Oilers. He's too sought after to be named an assistant coach.
Still, that must mean Lowe thinks pretty highly of Sutter, or at least was convinced by the rest of the board that Sutter would be a better option than Renney.
Or... Maybe Lowe can't make it blatantly obvious that he's catering to the interest of the Oilers when making decisions concerning Hockey Canada.
Sutter is intriguing. He's good with kids (I honestly think people assume he's not because of how he looks behind the bench). I don't know a lot about his systems play, but he didn't have much to work with in Calgary, yet they were still difficult to play against most nights.
I'd wait and see who else becomes available, but if the Oilers are going to go with someone with NHL experience instead of Nelson, Sutter might not be bad.
Sutter is a mix bag I don't think hes as negative as he looks on the bench though, he is actually pretty soft spoken. But I do think he wants his teams playing a more defensive style. I know from listening to him talk when Nuge was drafted, he has a mancrush on Nuge from his days with the rebels.
Watching him this year though it did appear that he wanted to hang himself on the bench ahahha. It was a fustrating year for him to watch crappy vets coast around. I imagine some flames fan's would be happy to see him succeed even if its with the oilers. Fans didnt dislike the guy, alot liked him.
He is a mixed bag, indeed, but all of the available coaches are. The obviously good ones are tied up right now.
