I agree..that sets up a horrible precedent. Why does the league feel a need to apologize in this particular case? Stuff like that happens every game what makes this case any more special? It's almost stomach churning...
Pens fans should honestly be pissed off about this. There was no need for apology especially since it wanst a GTG or GWG. Only makes Torts comments that more valid.
It does make you wonder why this statement had to be made. Who contacted the league with enough threat to warrent a statement like this? Why not issue a statement about the PHX/CHI game?
It pisses me off how much Pens fans think their team is just naturally better then ours. If they were better then they would've put up a fight for the seasons series and definitely not have blown multiple multi-goal leads against us. Outside of Malkin and Crosby where exactly are they undeniably better then us?

I've been thinking/distracted all day about this game, especially after I heard the NHL apologized to Pitt for the blown offsides call, which I guess isn't favortism at all huh? I feel the refs are going to be trigger happy tonight against us, but the best part about all of it is the Flyers do well when shoved in a corner, I have the attitude like bring it all on load it up against us, we're playing the Pens and the NHL, so if the Flyers go on to beat them it is so much sweeter, and mark my words these boards will be filled and flooded with Ranger, Devil, Bruins, Islander, etc, etc fans thanking us for taking out these golden boys, but hopefully tonight they answer the call and challenge and take it to these b i t c h es, Bryz needs to be a solid brick wall tonight, would be a bonus if we came back to Philly up 2-0

That's right. Good thing is that they know if they do what you said, they are going to win. On the other hand Penguins must be worried in their heads, because they know the Flyers were sleeping 20 minutes in the first game and still were able to beat them. That knowledge must really suck.
The refs already gave them 3 questionable power-plays as well as a blown icing call that lead to the Pens 3rd goal. I think we all know when things don't go the Pens way Mario gets on the phone with Bettman and b****es his heart out...probably threaten to walk away from the league again and Bettman tells him he'll make it right!!

That's exactly how I see it, Pens can ill afford to go down 2-0 going back to Philly. I hope this is not how it goes down with giving up early goals but we can't have a lackluster start and I'm not just talking about the goals against, I'm actually more concerned with the lack of heart and fore-checking (except Schenn) that they started Game 1 with. Let's at least not play the entire period in our zone and its an improvement over the start Wednesday.
What i am hoping is that sometimes a team gets so caught up in an early frontal assault that they give up break away's and 2 on 1s etc....Like to see a nice break away goal early for us ?
