Nicklas Grossmann vs. Josh Gorges

Both players are shutdown D-men, one is an elite shot-blocker and a replacement captain in case Gionta goes down, the other had his jerseys spelled wrong back in Dallas.

Who is the better player?

Gorges is my pick. Solid defensively, the most dependable Habs defenseman. Great leadership, should be the captain of the Habs.

It seems weird how the OP wants to say the differences between both of them.. one is elite, the next captain, donates 1 million every year to charity, the other one kill his wife, **** childrens at night and has aids.

I really really like Grossmann and was hoping MTL might sign him as a UFA this summer before he resigned with Philly, but I take Gorges, the guy just plays his heart out shift in shift out. Gorges' skating isn't great, he isn't really big or strong, but somehow always is winning puck battles in corners with guys much stronger and tougher than him. He has good hockey IQ, so he always is in the right position at the right time, the guy just plays his heart out and is probably the same reason he is as good as he is.

You guys think this is something new for Gorges, that he just "broke out" this year...that's too funny.

How soon it's forgotten how unbelievable he was vs Crosby and OV 2 years ago.

Go back and visit those game threads and count how many times a Caps or Pens fan was asking either who the F this Gorges guy is or praising him.

Gorges is one of the premier shut down character guys in the league, bar none.

Gorges, but this is the definition of a loaded question.

Gorges...
I don't know much about Grossman, but Gorges as one of our leaders is too important.
