Brent Sutter

With Brent Sutter being relieved of coaching duties in Calgary, what are the chances he becomes Kompon's replacement on the bench?

I hope he doesn't. Brent and Darryl don't have the warmest relationship from what it sounds like. I'd rather not have the potential for a clash behind the bench. Kompon needs to be replaced, but with someone else.

zero. Him and Daryl did not work out. I guess when DS was GM in Calgary he still kind of ruled the locker room and didn't let Brent do his thing. when DS got canned Brent said on the radio how much more freedom they had. I really like Brent sutter asa coach but do not see this happening.

I think they should try and get Renney if Edmonton does not bring him back.

But, who, Bernie Nicholls, Bernie Madoff or someone else?

I think Bernie Nicholls would be a great replacement. It just sounds like he doesn't want a full time coaching position. I think it would be a good promotion for Mark Morris, but I say let him keep doing his thing down in Manchester. He seems to be a good developmental coach down there.

No thanks. I think Brent is better suited as a junior coach. He'll also likely wait for a Head Coaching post, not an assistant.

I don't know about the Nicholls thing, he was brought in to help out with the PP and it worked when he was here. But then he started traveling with the team and to my knowledge he never quit working with them. I thought I even remember a mention of him a couple weeks ago in an interview some where... You think he'd be the first choice if a new guy was brought in though given his connection to both the Kings org, and DL and DS.

Yeah, I think Daryl likes Bernie more than he likes Brent. Even though I am sure he loves his brother.

I would just use Bernie and fire Kompon. Really, any replacement will do. Anybody is better than Kompon at this point. He has just survived far too long in this organization without giving any reason to stay.
