Late Pizza Delivery - What Should I Do?

So, I ordered a Pizza Hut pizza for delivery at 5. Was supposed to be here at 6. It's now 7:30 and Pizza Hut won't answer their phones when I call to find out about my delivery.

I've called 20 times. I'm not more angry than I am hungry.

What should I do about this

Wait longer?

alternatively try calling the restraunt phone as opposed to the orderline.

I've been calling the restaraunt. They have one of those automated systems and when I'm on hold to talk to someone, they hang up on me.

Go to their restaurant and tell them you're willing to pay twice as much to have your pizza ready right now. Then, when it's ready, you just don't take it and run away.

Drive there. Demand free pizzas.

(but seriously, Pizza Hut? Is that truly the best you can do? There HAS to be better pizza available than that...)

Pizza Hut is the best in general. There's a place literally 100 feet from my house, but I've eaten there twice. Both times, either myself or my wife got sick...

Pizza literally just came. This dude that was the driver was freaking out. Dude has like 20 deliveries and he's the only driver

I still can't get through to the store. I'm calling tomorrow and *****ing like crazy.

If Pizza Hut is the best Pizza in your area, then I truly pity you. There HAS to be a local pizzeria that's better.

(Then again, maybe I'm just spoiled living in Buffalo where there's always a great local pizzeria that's awesome pretty much a block in any direction...)

What should I do about this
Former employee here

Call and politely ask for the manager. Explain that you placed an order and were counting on a pizza at 6 but it's now 730. I assume what you did was a 'future order' placed around 5 for delivery at 6, and not that you were quoted 60 minutes. It's entirely possible for the person to have place the future order wrong in the system. When I worked there, every order (future or not) prints out a receipt. Future orders come out ahead of time so they can be hung up so everyone is aware. They also pop up according to current delivery time. Once someone accidentally misplaced a decimal and triggered every future order we had.

Managers do catch hell for complaints, even unreasonable ones. The paranoia corporate has there is amazing to see. You'll have to justify completely stupid things. This works in your favor, and the manager should be more than willing to fix the situation with store credit or freebies. Just don't be a dick. When I worked there, I was able to instantly hang up on any customer that was swearing or extremely combative. Didn't have many of those, but occasionally you get a belligerent drunk.

If you really want to, there will be a survey # at the bottom of the receipt. Give them a bad one. Those hurt big time, but it's fair game if you (the store) aren't going to do your job.

I got the drivers name and info. He was really stressed. He showed me the list of houses he had to deliver to. It was literally 30 houses long and I was 17 on the list.

Decided to tip HIM 2 dollars for his work. I told him that he better not give a penny of it to his employers. They didn't even have the decency to let me know of any waiting time.

Something is definitely wrong there. Not supposed to take more than 2 orders at once, even if you can. Computer won't even allow it.

When I got them, the best they could do is try to get me a special line to call to that store to talk to a manager. When I tried it, no one picked up after almost 5 minutes of ringing.

I think I'm just going to call a manager tomorrow and demand an explanation. At the very least I should have gotten a call explaining that there was a hold up

Make 'em pay. Get them to finally deliver your pizza, then eat both pizza and delivery man.
