who cares. i used to argue with people that hated the canucks but truth be told they are an easy team to hate. they have some classless players and were the second best team in the league this year. winners have a greater chance of being hated because they have more fans and people love being antagonists. winning + less than respectable players = hate.
canada hates the canucks but i for one don't care. i'm going to spend my time enjoying my team's success because never know tomorrow we may be watching a team like the one led by messier.
That is a great post and I wish everyone had your attitude!
Was it stupid and locker room material? Yes.
Was it premature being there are still several games to play? Without a doubt.
I don't get why people get so upset if someone doesn't like their favorite team? I live in the middle of Dallas Cowboy country and people look at me like I kicked their puppy and punched their mother in the throat when I tell them I could careless about the cowboys and only watch them on TV the rare occasion they play my team.
Then they want to play the whole "my team won more than your team, so your team sucks" arguement.
My answer is always the same. #1, stop living in the past. #2, I don't recall asking your opinion. I will support my team, you will support your team and life will go on!
Life is easier if you stop looking for reasons to get butt-hurt. Not everyone agrees on everything. That's a good thing.
I thought it was hilarious. Remember Bruins ads that targeted their opponents fanbase? I'd say that's walking a much finer line of professionalism than that tweet. It's become quite clear to me that the Canucks have earned their reputation not because their a great team, but because of their antics. If you're a Canucks fans, just embrace is rather than waste your time defending it - there's very little reason to defend that behaviour.
But I'm not selling the Kings short. Canucks need to get their heads in the game or they'll be golfing soon.
I'm waiting for the Luongo bashers to find a way to blame it on Lou. He gave the Canucks the chance to win and was hung out to dry by his teammates. Half the team played with their heads up their arses.
what are they saying ur welcome for? for winning game one? since when is winning game one eliminating the team? LOL the person who tweeted this is gonna look sooo stupid and get a lot of ribbing back if the Kings lose this series as that one win does nothing for the Canadians against the Canucks.
It's kind of bush league to me. If I were the Kings' management, I'd be embarrassed by it.
the Kings management did apologize for it... as a Canuck fan, I couldn't care less really... just shows that some people in the Kings organization (obviously in the small minority) don't agree with the whole "act like you've been there before" mentality.
Seriously, talking smack after winning 1 game? Last time I checked, it takes 4 wins to win a series. Looks like Kings management realizes that, and why they issued an apology, and said they'd take care of the situation internally. Looks like someone isn't going to be tweeting on behalf of the Kings anymore.

no, that's just what the fans at HF boards seem to think. Angus Reid poll was done recently, and it showed the Canucks as the 3rd most hated team in Canada (after the Leafs and Habs - and tied with the Sens). And the majority of those votes came from Alberta.
But let's ignore the actual polls on this, and rely on the fan base here at HF to tell us what people really think.
The Canucks as Canada’s most hated team? Think again. A new Angus Reid Public Opinion poll conducted in partnership with Maclean’s has found that Toronto—not Vancouver—is the country’s most hated hockey team. It turns out Vancouver, which has worn the “hated” label since last spring’s failed Stanley Cup run, is actually one of the country’s most popular teams. Montreal, meanwhile, is the country’s favourite club.
but don't let the facts get in the way of ripping on a team.
I don't think I'd consider stupid if he or she had tweeted it after a series win instead of after a game 1 win, but at any rate, everybody still hates the Canucks, obladi oblada.

I'm in B.C. and I hate the Canucks. I feel so left out by there comment of 'outside B.C.'.
This tweet is actually on the evening news in B.C. Slow news day I guess.
Who cares - the largest nationality represented in the NHL is Canada. The Cup comes home every year regardless.
I always laugh when American arenas chant "USA". On any given team in the NHL at least one of their star players is Canadian.
Especially when the Boston Garden crowd chants it (like they did several times in the last Cup Finals) - they have a grand total of one American on their team.
Seriously, after this ONE Canucks loss I cannot believe the amount of butthurt I am seeing by a huge majority of Canucks fans (not all though).
It was a playful tweet, get over yourselves, you're not that important
Like I said before, don't really care, but apparently the Kings management thought it wasn't just playful when they issued an apology for it. Seems like they were more "butthurt" than most Canucks fans were.
I just found it funny that you'd have anyone in the organization talking smack after 1 win.
I'm not surprised. The people who work the twitter feeds of the NHL teams are low paid university or college kids working in the marketing department.
that being said, it doesn't bother me, and there is some truth behind it. The Canucks are a good team, but people don't like them. In my circle of friends no one likes them.
As for the Canadian Team arugment, they may be a Canadian team, but there really isn't a lot of Canadians on that team. Also, Ryan Kessler plays for them. He's a guy people love to hate.
I have no love for the Canucks, but I respect them.
