Goalie Protection

Can't believe Boston is still able to get away with cross-checking and knocking the goalie over and getting away with it. Krejci just does it then Holtby pushes Kelly out of the way and gets called for the penalty.

When will the refs learn...

I was unaware throwing a blocker and a glove into the face of a player was legal.

Lol... and it didnt get called until afterwards. If they called it right away that scrum doesn't happen. And Boston could of had a penalty on Lucic as well.

I was unaware that it takes the goalie doing something like that to make refs look at the players in front and see what they are doing to the goalies. I was just using that play, it happened last night during Kings and Nucks game in addition to Sens Ranger game tonight.

Yea, I'm going to say you don't actually watch hockey. The play happened pretty bang bang and when the scrum cleared out, Krejci was in the box. So clearly, you're whining about nothing.

One of the reasons Boston gets away with it is because of the personnel they have. When Krecji bumps Holtby, he realizes that on his left side, he has Lucic, down the ice, he has Chara and down the line up, he has Thornton. So he doesn't fear retribution and the Caps players have to react, or they are gonna get pushed around all night.

So this results in a situation that favours Boston: They don't have to answer to anyone because of their players and since Caps have to answer back, they get offsetting minors, so it doesn't hurt them on the PK.

PS: Not judging, I hope Burke makes the Leafs team like this, just stating what happens.

I'm going to say the penalty was after the play as it generally is "goaltender interference" if its called on hitting the goalie.

But the Bruins got a penalty on the play. Why the **** are people ignoring this fact. The Bruins DIDN'T get away with a play like that, because Krejci was put into the box for it.

It wasn't necessarily on the goaltending interference, how do you not understand that. He could have easily gotten a penalty on the scrum as well.

They got a penalty, yes, but they were offsetting. So for all intents and purposes, they got away with it.

Looked like textbook goaltender interference to me...

But it's baseless speculation of you to say it wasn't. So what's the point of the thread? You can't be sure, I can't be sure. Krejci ended up in the box. WTF does it matter?

Because it's ridiculously classless play. That is about all there is to it. Clearly you have never played hockey. You cheapshot someone's goalie like that you shouldn't get a penalty for facewashing him a bit.

Krejci got a penalty for roughing, i.e. for his part in the scrum. He didn't get anything for goaltender interference, and Carlson got a matching minor.

The stupid in this thread is laughable. Krejci was clearly pushed into Holtby, and the contact was minimal anyway. OP makes it sound like "noted tough guy" David Krejci flew in untouched and cross-checked Holtby through the net.

Holtby was called for putting his blocker in Kelly's face.

Cheapshot? try actually, you know, watching the play. And playing the old "you've never played hockey" card? What's next? "I know you are but what am I?"

I will laugh if you play Rangers, then you will finally get a team who doesn't give a rats *** just as much as your players seem to about standards and class. Wouldn't be surprised to see Thomas sustain a concussion then.
And Krejci didn't get pushed at all he initiated contact with Holtby. Boston fans can you save me some glasses for when I come watch a game there? I really want to see the game through "your view"...

Dude, seriously? Actually watch something before commenting on it. Carlson pushed Krecji into Holtby not once, but twice.

I really wish I had your eyesight because my conscious would be clean. I would mever feel like I ever did anything wrong that the accident was someone elses fault, you see that wind pushed him through the red light and into that car over there.

Don't be naive, if carlson "pushed" him into holtby why was he beyond angry after it happened?

Same reason Ference was angry when the Caps playe locked him up and they knocked Thomas's helmet off lmao

Simmonds knocked over Fleury the other day too.

You forgot to make threads for both of those incidents, what are you waiting for! Since you are so worried about goalies
