o stewie? I would take him back to avs land...
I knew a thread like this had to exist watching all the former avs, including That oldguy in Chico!
I admit that I root for players.. and hoping, exceipt for that d guy in Detroit! lol
Its nice after seeing Gali struggle all year to see him getting some critical minutes,
Best of wishes to them, if not their teams!
Who all do we have in the PO for former avs besides the above mentioned?
I went from disliking them a few years ago, to feeling bad for them, to starting to like them and hoping they get a cup before their core gets too old.
Sharks. I enjoyed the rivalry that we had a few years ago. Trash talking, trolling, etc. - all the good things about a playoff series. The thing that impressed me more was how humble sharks were after. They didn't come and say "HA!". They said positive things about the team.
I am bias because of the fan base they have here on HF. They've been one of the best I've seen and always respectful at the end. Without doubt they've made me enjoy watching the Sharks and they're my 3rd favorite team in the West (behind Avs and Preds).
By the way, I was looking at Shattenkirk's stats on the season. Was very surprised to see him have 60 PIM this season. That's not quite into Quincey or SOB territory, but it's getting close.

Reminds me of Letang in that regard, actually. A feisty player for sure.
I don't care enough about any of those players to cheer for their team. I just can't bring myself to cheer for any other team anyhow... I can only cheer against certain teams.

Look at his college stats. He was always a pretty chippy player and was never afraid to lay down a good hit. He's found his groove again in the NHL and is playing like he used to in college.

Wolski, Anderson... not sure how I feel about him, Hendricks (who I wished we resigned) seems to work well in a bottom 6 role. Fleischman (sp?)... who I really wished we resigned. In a related note, I also sometimes wonder why the Avs don't negotiate during the season. It seems from player comments that although it is very clearly team policy, there is a general sense of discord.

I think the policy needs to be changed. Yes these guys are paid very well to play a sport, but almost all of them have big egos and need to feel the love from management. I feel that the avs mindset is stuck in the 90s sometimes.
