I do like the way they transitioned quickly.....O'l Man Rolston to Poulliot to Kelly on the fly.....seems like the first time a forward had a little bit of space tonight.
I kno washington wasnt expected to come into beantown and win but thats gotta be a devastating loss considering they were that close and couldn't score. They wont be getting goaltending like that again this series I don't think.
Huge win for the B's
I said that in another game chance. They were so close to stealing a game they had no sense being in. Bostons gotta learn to bury their chances for Saturday
I just hope for next game we switch up our power play units drastically and give Corvo less TOI. Yeah he has some good passes and stuff but he's a liability on defense. Love Zanon though.
We also need to practice getting in front of the net.
He was good when he had to be, but the bruins really didn't make it tough on him with traffic. everything for the most part was clearly seen by Holtby. Not taking anything away from him but thats the way it was.
It was more the Caps D taking away any kind of lane and blocking shots than Holtby "holding the fort" in my opinion. I don't really remember a single big/difficult save that he had to make to be honest.
Again, what was our final shot total at the end of 3? less than 30? It's not like we were peppering him all night long with lasers
Well, shoot.
I can't sleep now... I've been wound up for the past 3 hours.
Worth it. Kelly came through, and that 3rd line was great.
YAY TEAM! So happy playoffs have started.
no one played poor persay, but there was one top guy I would like to see work a little harder.
All in all though, it was a great (near perfect) game by Boston through the first two periods. Some of the 3rd they played with their sticks gripped a little tightly, but that's to be expected. The fact that they pulled through with the win just adds more experience and character to a team already oozing of it when it comes to playoff hockey.

Corvo played well. also it was Corvo who gave Rolston a quick pass in OT which led to the goal.
Am I the only one who didn't think Holtby was that great tonight?
We wouldn't even be talking about him if the Caps could have mustered a similar amount of shots on Thomas.
He was hardly tested all night. And, especially through that double minor, which turned into a triple minor w/ the puck going over the glass. He could have ordered a hotdog in loge, shoved his money through the photography hole, ate it in his crease. The best chances went over the net.
I should be used to the horrid PP by now, but I'll never get used to that sinking feeling after they don't score on them. Especially that 4 on 3. You can feel the momentum shift every time.
Ugh, reading the Caps board is almost unbearable. Just nonstop *****ing about the refs. It's playoff hockey boys, time to nut up.
What are they complaining about?
A high stick that's called 100% of the time?
a delay of game that's called 100% of the time?
a bonehead play by your goalie that should be called 100% of the time?
I kind of think Zanon and Corvo complement each other and I have always thought Seids plays his best on Chara's pairing-they also complement each other well.
Seids and Ovie were hitting each other all night-they are both going to be hurting by the end of this series.

Really? The refs dictated this one?? I don't see it that way at all.
If I were a Caps fan, I'd be pretty happy with how my team played tonight. A squeak of a loss, playing a tight road game, with a rookie goaltender stealing the show? Take this game and build on it.
They're complaining about the non-calls vs the Goon Bruins.....slashing, holding, etc....
That was going both ways.
Also, Rolston has to be one of the best stories in the NHL right now, dude looked absolutely done but he's been fantastic down the stretch and in game 1 of the playoffs.
