Dunno why we're even discussing line combos. Don't you guys remember the GDT posts from when we were down 2 - 1? The season's over, time to blow up the team
The bottom six was fine. TJ and Mitchell were tenacious all night and the Desi line was very good. TJ had some good chances but couldn't cash. Deal with it.
I disagree with the "we won, don't change anything" premise. First, hockey has a lot of luck, so you can be the worse team and win. Second, because being the better team doesn't mean you were the best possible team. You can't say "we did this and win, therefore if we always do this we will always win."
It showed in Game 2. Hitchcock countered us. We need to be improving as much as possible, as fast as possible, at all times.
Put Winchester in for mitchell. Add some strength to the 4th line.
That's not a bad idea, Moore and Mitchell are too easy to be bumped off the puck.
Wish TJ would play with more of an edge, I liked the McDonald hit even if it wasn't completely legal. If he can toe the line like a Torres he could be effective for the rest of the series.
I would not mind seeing Patty back with Havlat. The only problem is that the top line would be even slower then. When they played together they were able to make some good things happen.
Not with me. Neither have played in almost a month. You only put those guys in if you have injuries to handle. They don't need to switch up the lines to start the next game. They simply need to take advantage of the last change and match up well where you can. You can switch up the lines and double shift on the road if you want but at home, you have to out-change them and use the last change well before you resort to shaking up the lines.
This is where you start putting Marleau-Thornton-Pavelski up against the Blues third line or shelter them by letting them out in the offensive zone.

Honey, we don't have a third line capable of taking on Backes. If we did, I'd love to. But can you imagine Desjardins against Backes. Yuck.
Why are we calling for ferriero? The play dies on his stick. Galiardi gets in good position with no finish, ferriero won't get a sniff at their crease.
Winchesters speed will get exposed as will handzus.
Move marleau to 2C, and make the third line the fourth line.
