The glass and the fixture need some flex, so it's obvious a crowd of imbeciles pounding on it will knock the glass pane out of that tiny metal frame or even break it.

Maybe not in Washington but if this happened in a few places north of the boarder we would be talking conspiracy theories.
Please dude, don't start with conspiracies. It was just a bad mistake by the arena staff, nothing more or less that's all.

This was on the fans.

Unless by "staff" you mean the security that doesn't have zero tolerance of fans hitting and swaying the glass.

I think you're not considering that the glass/frame have to be able to withstand multiple 200+ lbs. men crashing into them repeatedly over the course of a night and season. Don't want them falling on spectators, after all.

Wihtout figuring out the math, I imagine there is more stopping force involved in a body-to body-to glass check than a couple of drunks pushing on it

Seems to me something failed structurally that shouldn't have, or it was installed incorrectly.

At least Bartman only ruined one game.

The pack of morons swaying that glass could have jeopardize every game Krejci misses--not to mention his long term health.

Sorry that came out wrong. But I meant in general. No matter where this happens some people (and I'm not saying you) tend to think this is a conspiracy and it just gives writers more ammunition for stupid articles. Sorry about that.

The checks and swaying from them don't happen for a minute straight throughout the entire wall of glass. If the fans don't bang and rock it for a minute straight it doesn't fall at all--nevermind on someone. It might pop out--but that's it.

The fans did this.

There's also warning when something happens during the game. The goal line cameraman seemingly knew a pane was popping out at the top as he seemed to focus on it for few seconds before it collapsed.

I`d suggest the staff in charge of safety, both players and fans should be. Bangin on the glass, leaning on it, whatever you want to call it goes on everywhere and has for years, can`t recall ever having seen this happen because of it. How many here think sitting where they were, they wouldn`t have been doing pretty much the same thing???

This would/could be a massive problem moving on if DK isn`t good to go, let`s hope he is

I've never sat up close to the glass. Is that the policy, trenton, to toss fans out if they climb/bang on the glass? It should be.

Of course when it happened the game was already over, so the cretins weren't worried about getting tossed.
