In Philly it's pretty unreal.. I know some true die hard eagles fans that never used to lay an eye on hockey come out of the closet so to speak to profess their love for the Flyers.

Yep, everyone's suddenly making Rangers facebook posts. People that I know never watch hockey texting me about the Rangers. People at work talking about the Rangers. So funny.

Such is the bane of being a hockey fan. We're like the hipsters of the sports world. Just take solace in the fact that we liked this band before they were cool.

Well, some could be converts to hockey: That's how you get new fans. Others, I do agree, just go with the flow.

There's a web site you would love. Although, a little paranoid about posting the link here.

I don't see why this is a bad thing? It is what the NHL has trying to expand its fan base for years and looks like the efforts are finally paying off.

I wonder if the recent increase is more due to all the recent drama caused by Pittsburgh hatred. There has been a lot of press surrounding this, and as we know drama sells!

But I for one welcome anyone who wants to give hockey a chance!

Sure, a few. But not like it was in Pittsburgh.

"was at the rangers game"

"hockey is still a sport?"

smh...

Pittsburgh is the absolute worst. They need to remember that if they didn't win 2005 draft lottery and have Cindy, that team of theirs would be in Winnipeg, Hamilton, Quebec or Kansas City.

Then stop ****ing them

On topic, I don't mind the bandwagonners. That's how a lot of people become fans. The only ones that bother me are the ones that will be gone the moment the Rangers are no longer in the spotlight.

Happens in every sport, for every team when the playoffs roll around.

Funny this thread should be opened, cause that's exactly what happened to me last night. Went to the game with my buddy, but on the way to his house I stopped off at a pizza place to get something to eat cause I was busy all afternoon and never got a chance to eat lunch. So I get in there and I'm obviously wearing my jersey and the guy behind the counter is like "You watching the game tonight dude?" so I go, "I'm on my way to the game." and he's like "Awesome dude. Would love if they won the Cup!" so I'm like, "Yeah, me too." And then he says, "If anything just to stick it to the f***ing Devils fans" So I'm thinking, alright..maybe this guy's a fan.

Then he says it:

"Hey did the Devils even make playoffs this year?"

I resist the urge to roll my eyes and I'm like, "Yeah, they're the 6th seed."

"Oh ok." he says, then says, "Whatever they ain't the same team they were years ago."

How would you know that if you didn't even know if they made the playoffs?

Even better, was 15 minutes later, after I finish eating, go to pay and his buddy behind the counter, who apparently heard nothing of the conversation says to me:

"You going to some game or something?"

Again, resisting the urge to roll my eyes I'm like, "Yeah, Rangers game. Playoffs start tonight."

"Oh ok..cool...where is it..at the Meadowlands?"

Could not get out of there fast enough.

Usually I would get very angry about this, but honestly if we win the cup, IDC if I end up hugging tom brady in celebration and he jumps on the bandwagon. Obv that would never happen nor is he a rangers fan, but im saying someone I despise jumping on a bandwagon i wouldnt give a crap.

can't stand bandwagoners. even our own bandwagoners.

luckily i dont think there are many of them for the Rangers...there are tons of legit ranger fans, it just sorta drowns out all the noise.
