The credentials of Rhodes or I are irrelevant. Everyday a new article or video is posted to the forum with the same "pick at the leafs losing" message. Every media outlet within 300km of Toronto has to get their licks in on the Leafs losing to get cheap hits and I for one am sick of hearing it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a cbc fanatic. But Mansbridge better be the BEST journalist in Canada, he's the highest paid person on the Canadian tax pay roll.
I can think of multiple government programs that I'd consider a waste aside from a communications board that provides free information, entertainment and culture to Canadians. Especially when the gap between the richest few and the rest is growing faster than anytime in Canadian history.
But yes, drink your kool-aid and watch the country erode.
Why is hating the Leafs the popular thing to do? I don't get it... The losingest franchise? Give me a break! Even at the beginning of the 2000's we were going deep into the playoffs... Watched it yesterday on TV. I liked it from an entertainment perspective, but I do acknowledge that his arguments are unfair. Rex Murphy is actually a very knowledgeable person, but he is at his best when he talks about politics or some other Canadian issues. As for the CBC being a waste of tax money, that just simply isn't true. The CBC is a great channel. No news program in this country even comes close to being as good as The National.

It's not "meaningless" CBC haters, there is a good reason to be upset with the CBC. I agree with the other guy, beyond HNIC there isn't much there. Peter Mansbridge is not a good reporter, he is a biased goof doing what the network tells him to do, just like the rest of the goofs at that network including one of the worst offenders there, Terry Milewski. One reason the taxpayer should not be held at gunpoint funding them! The CBC does not speak for ALL Canadians it speaks for a segment of the population... therefore why are we all having to pay for it? We should be able to opt out! Shows like George Strombo Tonight or whatever it's called does not represent me as a Canadian, in fact anytime I've seen that show it's been with an extreme bias in their way of reporting or presenting their claims, the host is a biased tool, the whole damn network is biased. Defund the CBC and let them sink or swim like Global, CTV, etc.
