Dennis Seidenberg

I love this guy.... He was huge last year in the playoffs and had a great game again last night. Guy is built like a tank, hits everything that moves, blocks shots and just plays great playoff hockey. I just can not say enough positive things about this guy. What a player!!!

I agree, but what's with the Bruins appreciation threads here? Might be better to have it on our own board.

I don’t know; just think appreciating a guy like Seidenberg goes beyond the Bruins.... He represents everything that's good about hockey and playoff hockey at that. Think Bruins fans are well aware of Dennis just wanted to see if Hockey fans shared the same appreciation.

But Bob Clarke thought Petr Nedved was the key to a championship contender!!!

It was Seidenberg for Nedved right? Or am I misremembering?

Ooooh Nedved and a 4th. Well that changes everything.

I think Seids is a pretty cool guy, eh blocks shots and hits and doesn't afraid of anything.

No but for real, I was thrilled when we got this guy, because he was a beast against the Bruins in that Canes series in 09. Now he's OUR beast. Seidenberg is playoff hockey.

Tommy: It's for protection.

Every time someone refers to Seids being German all I can think of is "Snatch."

Great story from McGuire last night talking about Seids and how he asked him how sore was he after the Cup run and if it took him the usual month...Dennis said he didn't want to jinx himself but he was not sore one bit and felt great the day after and the whole summer.

Seids is the kind of guy who helps you win cups, tough as nails and more skilled then most people think, I love this guy.

Yeah... I remember end of last year he was asked the same thing and he said he still felt "fresh" or something like that.

He was one of our most important pieces last playoffs and I'm expecting the same this year.

It is also not unfair to wonder what might have been had he been healthy in '10 when we lost to Philly.

Exactly how I feel. Seidenberg plays defense the way it's supposed to be played.

I want more guys like him on the Bruins--not fluffy PMD's.

Honestly, this is what I've been thinking for a while now, especially after everything we've seen from Corvo this year. Just give me solid defense from the blueline, and i'm happy. Asking for an offensive defenseman these days just seems like asking for a forward disguised as a defender, almost.

Dennis Seidenberg is such a bargain it's ridiculous. Bruins fans we are very fortunate to watch this guy play hockey. Especially in the playoffs.

Agreed, i'd rather have 6 guys who aren't complete **** ups in their own end with 2-3 of them fair-to-good offensively. That one guy who is a gong show defensively makes life so much harder for every other player on the team.

Solid all around dman. Nothing flashy about his game... He's just steady, dependable, and tough. Great pickup by Chia.

They said last night that he is in the gym as much as Chara. Looking at that hit with Ovechekin I thought he hit his head on the ice and was thinking concussion. As the replays show he held his head up. When I have done that I had neck pains for 2 weeks. Realizing all that I have some idea of the shape Seidenberg is in.

He did have an off stretch of games this season. He might be a money player some of us were so used to hearing some time ago.

He's not flashy but he gets the job done the vast majority of the time. It would be nice if he were a little less sloppy with the puck when passing, but other than that I love the guy and am very glad he's on our team.

Great pickup by Chiarelli. Clarke got rid of him because he wanted more offense. Phoenix and Florida got rid of him because they were not good enough to make his underappreciated talents apparent. He is an excellent defenseman.

Talk about a guy who plays the right way, and was made for this Bruins team. There's nothing not to like about him. Even the way he names his kids. Breaker Seidenberg. Tell me that kid isn't destined for the NHL.

What was it, Seidenberg for Bitz, Weller and a pick, and then Horton and Campbell for Wideman and a pick after that? Florida sure was good to us.

It's funny, after every strong game by a Bruin, these threads pop up...hell, even Corvo got kudos for his play.

This just makes me laugh whenever anyone says that the Bruins aren't worthy.....they just continue to underestimate this team and hate us.....I love it.

Seriously, can anyone remember such an non-flashy and workman-like team as this one?
