This is the best hockey you will ever see. These guys are killing each other, both teams are flying out there, great saves mixed into the action, tremendous skill on display. They are really putting everything into every hit out there. I don't think any playoff series will top this in 2012.

Then you got the rivalry, the coaches hate each other (I guess), Jagr, just a ton of history and venom. lol so awesome. That's gotta sting seeing Jagr score the GW.

Oops I wanted to make this a poll and I messed it up. lol sorry.

Horrible defense and goaltending =/= great hockey

this isn't even exciting. goals are meaningless, cause you already know there are gonna be more

C'mon, it was great.

Some impressive offensive performances with lots of physicality at high speed.

More entertaining than our game by leaps and bounds.

Epic really.

Entertaining yes, but there is absolutely no defense being played.

there were a few bone headed plays for sure, like Lovejoys giveaway. But a lot of the chances in G1 and 2 was created with skill and speed.

The hitting alone is beyond anything else this years playoffs will be able to match IMO.

I dont know, usually the finals involve 2 teams who can play defense.

Games like these are awesome ONCE IN A WHILE. If this was what hockey was always like, it would get incredibly boring, with goals not meaning much.

People still watched hockey in the 80s.

Yeah, an 8-5 score and a complete blowout in the 3rd period is totally exciting.

Now if it was 8-7, it would be exciting.

It's entertaining but it's not really "great" hockey because of all the ridiculous defensive breakdowns.

I know, I watched but the 3rd period was terrible (competitively). 4-1 Philly in just one period.

No, believe it or not there are allowed to be entertaining series in the first round.

The 2012 Finals haven't happened yet so we can't judge.

But this may well be better than last year's Cup Final.

148 hits in 2 games (both at 74 hits per game).

I cannot believe people are complaining about this series. It might not be the best systematic hockey but its more entertaining than anything else on ice at the moment.

People really didnt expect Philly and Pitt to run and gun with the horses out there?

If you're not loving the hockey these teams are playing then seriously what the heck are you looking for?

So many posts in this thread complaining about defence. Give me a break. To all you that want to watch more defense. Go watch St.Louis and San Jose snooze the game to death.

This is great fun to watch. Lead changes galore. Goals scored. Momentum swings. Emotion swings.

I sure as heck didn't see that in the fantastic battle that was San Jose and St.Louis. There I saw a couple of teams that all stood in front of the net daring the other team to score some flukey ass goals.

This was looking to be the best series in round 1 and by god it's living up to the bill.

Well, after the OP's claim, I guess I'm looking for the "best hockey I'll ever see".

People complaining about the high scores

What the hell did you think would happen when the #1 offense plays the #3 offense in the league? 2-1 games?

More entertaining than our but I honestly don't think that the Rangers are the most entertaining team in the league. That said, the defense was awful. It's not like it was all great offense.

This series has like... Baseball game level point totals. It's awesome to watch when your stuck watching stingy Western conference hockey all year!

But yea, it wouldn't make for good finals hockey.

I do enjoy watching it but I don't see how it could be better than the cup.

The atmosphere sucked though. Too many goals scored.
