We all know how the season ended on such a sour note, but I wanted to highlight some things that made me proud of the boys at certain times during the season via YouTube.
The Kessel from Phaneuf goal against the Jets was probably one of my favourites simply for the reaction afterwards from both players.
Just watching these videos and it's so clear how different of a player Dion was at the beginning of the year. So much more confident.
Same goes for Lupul and Kessel.
I realize these are favourite games, but I was hoping you people could provide more specific moments.
The Kessel hat trick I was watching the game with a Sens fan and that was about the last time I could brag against him without standings being brought up.

Really? That was the second game of the season.
The Leafs were ahead of the Sens for at least half the season, and then flip flopped a couple of times before the epic fall.
Lets keep the Debbies out of this thread. The seasons over; deal with it.

I didn't get a lot of chances to brag to him though, only saw him a few times in the first half of the year, that game or the Sens won the game against us.
Grabo's OT winner in Montreal, and Kessel's goal against the Jets - both games I was watching with friends, and both games the goals made me go absolutely mental.
Overall, the start of the season was pretty good - I remember the first time we played Boston, and how fast paced the first period was and full of chances. The game was televised on national TV, and Ray Farraro was showing a highlight package of all the chances in the first period and one thing he said stood out, even now:
"When you get two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference going head to head, your going to get quality plays and quality scoring chances.
I got giddy from him calling us one of the top teams in the conference; tweeted "I could get used to that". Foolish be believed him for a little while too.
Oddly enough - and I don't want ppl to say I'm a Debbie downer etc., but the moment the Leafs were officially eliminated from the playoffs, despite it being on the card for weeks, was the rubber stamp on the season. The reason that sticks out was because it was officially time to move forward and look ahead. Something that we should all be doing.
I actually quite enjoyed the goal that made it 4-1 against Washington in the video posted. Just something about the way it flowed to each player, the no look pass by Lupul, and the hustle he gave to get the puck in front of the net.
lol at this thread. have you completely sheltered yourself from all the bad things that have happened? i am floored that you found all these insignificant highlights.
best part of the season: hiring Randy Carlyle. so refreshing. he was loved as a Jet (player) and fans will love him here too.
when the leafs fans in the front row above the players bench dont show up for the first 5 minutes of the 2nd period cause there late from the intermission... i think this is the main reason why we keep not making the playoffs
With the 5th overall pick the Toronto Maple Leafs select........

Pretty difficult to select favorite moments from a very forgettable season. But my favorite moment is non-Leafs related actually. It was when Vernon Fiddler did an awesome impression of Kevin Bieksa of the Canucks.....and Alain Vigneault (Nucks coach) was caught on camera laughing hysterically at the opponent mocking his own player. Vigneault could not gather his composure. It was fantastic. I would post the link but its not Leaf related so I won't bother, but if you haven't seen it....you must. Funny as hell.
Does anybody remember the goal that Dion? scored assisted by Kessel?
I'm pretty sure it was on the PP because Kessel was along the boards, he then made a sick pass through a defender's legs across ice to Phaneuf who scored on the open net.... I don't know why, but that goal was a pretty big highlight to me, beautiful pass....
Beating Ottawa 5-0 @ Scotiabank Place shortly after the all-star game. That was really sweet after all of the booing that the Leafs players endured during the All-Star weekend.
