so what about him being younger? you were wrong, clearly showing you dont know the facts.
got that one wrong. is it really that awful? they were both late birthdays and like 2 weeks apart. sue me
the facts are that one is going to win the Calder and one won't even be Top 5 in voting.
both Landeskog and Couturier needed to be taken with a grain of salt compared to other prospects due to their NHL readiness factor. People need to seriously stop thinking that making the NHL out of camp and doing well in your first year means you're better than everyone else. Barrett Jackman won the Calder and he is pretty much just average right now. Jeff Skinner scored ****tonne of goals last year, this year looks just ok. people were question why he fell so much
I was talking about this with a couple of my friends yesterday I asked them what would you give up coots for(nobody was actually for this by the way just talking) and we couldn't come up with a trade we all agreed on just wondering what you guys thought? Or I guess what I should say is what can he fetch if he as a real good playoffs?

Reason: I should say what could he fetch
Dominant performance. Every era has its share of players that elevate their games when the playoffs come around. With a game like tonight, Couturier, has given everyone a reason to keep and eye on him down the road.
It's funny how some of these young players' careers develop. Before he was drafted, all I heard about Couturier was that he was a potential franchise centre with great offensive, playmaking skills and size and was compared to Joe Thornton. I don't at all remember hearing much about his two way play. Fast forward to his first career playoffs in his rookie season and one of the all time greats (Jagr) is calling him the best defensive player on the team and one of the best young two way players he's ever seen.
It's like, where the hell did that elite two way play just come from?
Must've missed some scouting reports. He's compared to Jordan Staal on draft day, with comments like "he prides himself as a 200ft player", "will give up offense for defense", "not just known for his defense". Check it out...
That's what you ASSUME, but IMO that's why he dropped because people feel he will still stay the same due to his already NHL level maturity and frame. He doesn't have much room for improvement I'd say
I say as he grows and gets stronger he will only improve. You are also wrong about why he dropped in the draft. But there is no reason to explain that to you. If you are 13 that may be a good reason for your lack of knowledge.
He is having a fantastic year. Excelled in every situation given to him by the coach. Watch the game a little and you will see why he is getting all the praise

The facts are the kid had a fantastic game, a thread was created to point this out, and you are crying about how some prospects may look better when they first step in the NHL so these accomplishments mean squat?
If a 10 year veteran scored a hat trick and shut down the NHL Hart/Art Ross trophy winner leaving him at a -4 in a huge playoff game on road ice, that would be a newsworthy accomplishment all by itself. But I guess you're feeling that Mika Zibanejad must be better since Ottawa chose him over Couturier and now you have to crap on the guy. Let's appreciate the good players in the NHL on other teams, show some respect.

it's been since the preseason. Right off the bat he was on their #1 pk unit out of TC as an 18 year old and was in the shutdown role late in games. He's been doing it all year but he's just out of the 4th line role now on a national stage.
It just highlights the ineptitude of Columbus...they could have had either Couturier or Hamilton at 8, and instead they trade for Jeff Carter...how's that workin' for ya?

At least we have Jack Johnson now...but to be honest, watching Jakub and Sean playing at the level they are playing right now is tough.
Then again, the moment the Jackets traded them, they had the hockey gods on their side.
He has made so many improvements through out the entire regular season. At 19 years old to have the command he has is impressive. I think he'll be better than Mike Richards.
