Guess its going to be 'Live by the sword. Die by the sword'. Or if you prefer, 'Stand by your man'.
I think that's a mistake though. You can't afford to wait until its 3-0 to make a change.
Exactly. Luongo's been good, but the time to give Schneider a shot is now, not once they're down 3-0.
And last year against Chicago, Luongo got benched in Game 6, and came back to win in Game 7, so it's not like he can't handle letting Schneider have a chance.
Bottom line is, they need to shake things up, and maybe seeing a goalie change will knock some sense into the rest of the team.
I don't really care either way - goaltending has not been the problem, and hasn't been the problem all season. If the skaters step it up, we will win with Luo and win with Cory. If they come out flat, we will lose with Luo with lose with Cory.
Nothing changes - the PP keeps doing the same ****ing stupid drop pass, AV keeps putting lines on a blender whenever they start clicking, the forwards keep floating at the blue line instead of offering support for the breakout pass...
Letting Luongo sit after being one of the few Canucks interested in keeping the team in the game will just set up the team for a sweep, because Schneider isn't scoring goals. Good for the haters, I guess.
Luongo hasn't been the problem but I think they should go with Schneider in game three. The Canucks might play better with him in nets. Look what it did for the Habs in 2010.
canucks haven't scored more than 2 regulation goals in 10 straight playoff games, have a powerplay that's been running at a 12% clip since january, and have their only elite goal scorer sitting in the quiet room

Well Luongo has been our best player this series and people are advocating taking him off the ice so.....
Henrik has a couple points, but IMO has not been a difference maker. He hasn't played like an elite center.
But this has nothing to do with Henrik, he has done what he can with what he's given. Not that Luongo hasn't played well. But you can't just criticize someone because another player is being criticized.
And taking off your best player in Roberto Luongo is going to solve it? Great Plan. No seriously, Luongo is not the reason why the Canucks are in a 2-0 deficit. Guys not showing up to play, Henrik Sedin's lack of diversity in his game and overall team's lack of control and discipline is the reason why they are in the 2-0 hole. Ratify those issues before saying Schneider is necessary.
Luongo is not going to get any better, i am sure its safe to say that his development is set lol. With that, i believe Schneider is the better goalie, he just does not get as much of a shot considering the star power and huge contract of Luongo.
The book is set on Luongo, he plays well, but still lets in goals where he is not set properly or lets a stoppable puck squeeze by. I have never seen a modern goalie as terrible at bad angle shots as Luongo is. While he is not at fault for game 1, it was a bad goal to let in early that set the tone for the rest of the game. The canucks were playing well in the first period of game one and had the momentum with the 1-0 lead, killed off a bunch of L.A powerplays, and then Luongo's weakness comes back to haunt the Canucks again.
Have you ever seen a goalie in just a few seasons of playoff hockey give up so many weird angle goals? Am i nit picking to much in thinking that was a costly goal that probably changed the complexion of game 1 and made the Canucks more nervous and think uh oh here we go again.

Alain Vigneault would lose his job without doubt if he throws in Schneider and he puts up a stinker (and the canucks lose the series). While he'll probably get fired if the Canucks lose the series anyways, I can't see a coach throwing in the back-up at this point in time.

By virtue of salary alone. There's no other reason Luongo should be Vancouver's No. 1 at ths point.
The whole team just plays a different game with Schneider in, people who have watched all the games this season can notice this. It's time to change it up. We also all know how Luongo plays with adversity, not well. He's gonna be taunted all game if he plays.
"Luon-go"

He gets rattled too easily, just look at the last 3 playoffs. Schneider or golf.
