No, I'm way too crushed right now to try something like that.

I just LOL to myself because every year since 2006 I've said a Canadian team has a GREAT chance of winning the Cup. I was wrong. Since the beginning of this season I've felt there is very SLIM chance of a Canadian team winning. I'm usually wrong. Hopefully that's true this year. Also... since I started watching hockey in 2003, EVERY team from the SCF I wanted to win the Cup lost... except for the Pens in 2009 when I wasn't even watching.
There's probably bias in both of our opinions, but I haven't thought any of Canadian teams were anywhere close (on paper. Calgary and Edmunton were cinderella/lucky runs) to winning the Cup since the early '00's Senators or last year's Canucks.

07 Sens were pretty awesome. They weren't going to beat Wings/Ducks, but they were the best in the East obviously. Last year Canucks too, yeah. But other than that I'm not so sure.

I can't believe people aren't counting the Sens out already, let alone sticking up for them! <3

If all the PO teams left were Canadian, I don't think that any Americans would notice or care.

I think fewer Canadians have that sentiment than you think. In Alberta few will cheer for the Canucks and don't really have any passion for the Sens. In these playoffs a lot of us are supporting American teams.

My rationale is that the league is 55% Canadian players anyways so we're well represented on teams other than the Canucks or Sens. The Ducks team was as much a Canadian team as any other recently there were so many Canadians on that championship team.

Because us Canadians won't have any good Canadian players to cheer for if Vancouver and Ottawa loses. Who will we cheer for once our local heros like Sedins, Kesler, Karlsson and Alfredsson lose? Having to cheer for foreigners like Grioux, Crosby, Doughty or Bergeron is just disgusting.

Yeah, the whole national pride thing is overrated from both ends. Two Senators fans in my section on Thursday. Rangers fans razzing on them for "being from Canada" during the third period. 10 minutes earlier, Brad Richards scored a goal for us. It was kinda hilariously stupid.

If the Canucks-Sens & Pens happen to get ousted in the first round.
The rest of the playoffs will have unbiased play by play.

Rangers will probably beat Ottawa handily but you can't count Vancouver out just yet. They win game 3 and they're right back in it.

It is great for the league.

At the end of the day, Canadians will still love hockey. A final four of Vancouver-Calgary and Montreal-Ottawa is probably the worst thing for hockey. No one in the USA would watch.

The NHL should want the Rangers, Blackhawks, Bruins to be in the final four.

I will say though that a Vancouver-Boston Final matchup was great for the NHL because I think Americans could treat it like another USA-Canada matchup.

Sens have to bring their game up significantly.

As it is, they have to get very very hot very very soon if they want to do any damage in the post-season, and that includes goalie Craig Anderson.

They're a dark horse at the best of times, and statistically, how often does an 8th seed go anywhere?

I'm just happy to be here at this point.

So you're effectively saying Americans are lesser hockey fans?

I think he's saying that Canadians will watch playoff hockey no matter who is playing.

In the States it's more about the regional popularity of the teams.

I was at a packed bar watching Phi-Pit and everyone was pretty amped about it. This despite the fact that very few were fans of either team.

Really? The 05-08 Sens were pretty ridiculous. Especially 05-06...they tore the league apart....then hasek got hurt.

It's been 20 *** years since a Canadian team won the Cup. This is getting embarrassing.

Obviously that's not what he's saying.

It's really quite simple for anyone to understand what he's saying

Since when can biased announcers be only Canadian. Ottawa doesn't even get their biased announcer, he is off doing the CBC coverage of the Boston game. They get the "I hate Ottawa Sens" crew.
