Emile Butch Bouchard has passed away

Coming from Stubbs Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/habsinsideout...17639442108416

Quote:
Terribly sad news from #Habs family: former captain Émile (Butch) Bouchard has died this morning at age 92
RIP Mr. Butch. Another great one that will be looking down on this team. Geez, are they building a great team upstairs....Condoleances to the family and especially Pierre who is always fun to listen to when we have a chance to do so.

The loss of another great one. It saddens me to read this. As a teen, my mom took me to his steakhouse in Montreal (in the 70s...not sure if it still exist). I was so impressed to be there and see him.

I still remember when O'Byrne gave him his jersey ... he looked so happy and proud.

RIP Butch

From the official website of the Hockey Hall Of Fame:

Although there have been many excellent players through the pantheon of the Montreal Canadiens' franchise, few emboldened the inspiration written on the dressing room walls of the Montreal Forum as appropriately as 'Butch' Bouchard:

'To you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high.'

'Nos bras meurtris vous tendent le flambeau, à vous toujours de le porter bien haut.'

Repose en paix, Butch.

RIP Mr. Bouchard

It's sad to see a Legend like him leave us

Not too many 40's players are still alive : Lach, Plamondon, Gravelle, Riopelle, Fillion, Robertson, Dussault, Mahaffy...

RIP Butch.

Too bad you had the watch the once-mighty Canadiens hid the skids.

92 is an amazing life.

Your retirement ceremony during the centennial game was a highlight moment in Habs history.

I'm glad Butch was able to see his number 3 go up in the rafters. I met his son Pierre a few years ago....very nice man. RIP Emile.
