Pretty good game so far. Both teams had some chances. Wish the PP would get it together.

A Boston fan in the neutral game thread, or I guess it's more of an all-inclusive game thread, says, re the Wideman booing: "Yeah and his last season with the Bruins he made a lot of small noticeable mistakes. I'd never boo him though b/c was a nice part of the organization's turn-around."

So, maybe it's like a mix of some people who just didn't like what he did when he was a Bruin and still feel sore about it even though he left, plus some people who do like what he did but didn't want him to leave?

Our dumps remain horrible. on the PP also. We are lacking identity, our stars need to win games for us, and they are not cycle guys.

If i didnt know any better it looks like dale is eliminating the cycle and is playing defensive so they can spring out on the counter

Well, 9 shots in the period, so Dale shoukd be very proud of his body of work. It's clear we will score at least 2 goals this series, so no need to adjust the lineup or get creative on offense.

Another Bruins fan (I think) just said: "Bruins fans booed him when he was a Bruin-they're just trying to make him feel at home.

Wideman was pretty much hated in Boston and was the fan whipping boy for any and all things that went wrong."

Another said he was a train wreck during his last year in Boston.

So I guess it's mostly just leftover bad feelings.

He's an All-Star this year though!

The Zubrowka in me saw a few decent rushes on counters courtesy the trap.

Indeed, simply put, the trap is replacing the cycle. Good call Ovi89

Laich looks a bit lost. Maybe the Bs centers are roughing him up.

This is the playoffs.... Not every game is going to be like phi vs Pitt

It's tired. We played pretty well that period

So...if Ovechkin is being keyed on while he is on the ice..Laich and Brouwer need to make something happen. Drive the net, create room. He isn't getting any help from them. None. Zilch.

Thats precisely it however i hope it works to ovi and nicks style. No point appointing a style that your players arent meant for. I'm sure the goals will come with the first one...

Laich got his even strength points this year but come playoff time, I dont really see a step up in his game. If he pulls another 27% in the dot tonight, the experiment as 1C laich must end. If you cant score a goal, the top line needs to be addressed.

Its not rocket science.

Laich 3-2 in the first. Small progress

Ovi led F TOI 8:18 but cant read into it much since we actually got 2 PPs

im always in favor of splitting scoring, but at this point there are 2 huge problems with that.

1) ovi needs to be out there a LOT, and since that means laich is out there a lot, thats an epic fail. hes steaming goatcrap right now.

2) the 2nd "scoring line" looks flat out awful as well, mostly due to the wingers inability to retrieve and mojos overall lack of ability to do ANYTHING.

I don't see that commercial. I do see Beaudreau on the Hockey Night in Canada panel. He says the Capitals are really into the game and it will be tought for Boston to win the game.

So you're not the only one who sees this. Just about every team in these playoffs have excellent depth at center. After backy who do we have thats consistent?

Brouwer with his arms around Marchand. So funny. Marchand having to look way up.
