We were at the Fronts BBQ today and I was very impressed by the young men that are going to wear the Big K. Talked to some, renewed friendships with fans attending the function a good time was had by all. The Fronts have acquired a new person today to handle the official tweeting on Twitter so information via the social media outlet will start flowing again.

Henri Ikonin's first game and he made the "Youtube" with his penalty shot goal in the Fronts 6-3 win over the Bulls.

I was at the game last night, kingston has a bright future. I was impressed with DiPerna,Bennett and Watson. Thanks to the nice guy and his wife for the free tickets in the box seats! Awesome watching a game from lazy boy chairs.

I was at the game in Brockville yesterday and I was impressed with the speed and skill of the Fronts forwards. All the young kids were flying, Bennett scored 2 including 1 hi-lite reel goal. They took a 5 minute penalty in the 3rd and Ottawa scored 3 times to take the lead. The Fronts outplayed them 5 on 5 so if they can stay out of the penalty box and get a little better goaltending they will surprise alot of teams this year.We will see starting Friday night with the home opener

Vainonen looked pretty solid as did Ikonen. McKeown wasn't bad either but looks like he needs to get a little stronger which takes time. Steele and Moffat looked good, Nixon was on crutches after he got hit with a dirty knee in the 2nd period.DiPerna looks like he could develope into a good player also.

Thanks for the updates BigBuck et al. I don't think I've ever been as excited for a Frontenacs season to start. Can't wait to see all the new kids play.

First game of the year tonight against Barrie. Can hardly wait to see year 2 of the blue print. Lets hope there is a great crowd tonight. Next weekend Erie and Niagara come to town.

Great start for the Fronts this year soundly beating a good Barrie team 3-1. Moffatt was a beast with at least 6 big hits and 3 points,Bennett scored his first OHL goal with a laser of a slap shot from the top of the circle.

Moffat was for sure my first star. He also had about half a dozen blocked shots and a couple of big defensive plays. Looks like he's got a lot of confidence right now.

Sam Bennet really impressed me. Great offensive instincts. He has a very good ability to position his body to win puck battles.

Ikonen had a huge hit early in the game. I like what the Finns are bringing to the team.

Overall it was a highly entertaining game. The Fronts were digging hard and mostly kept the peddle to the floor. If they continue to do that I think they will have success by keeping other teams on their heels.

With the new 10 fight suspension rule you would think the Ref would take a little time before calling a fighting major. Dupuy and Cull the 2 guys who might approach the 10 fights on the year were given pretty marginal 5 minute majors for fighting. They called 7 fighting majors on the night and there was only 1 real fight with Hutchy and Corson.

Erie in town tonight for its only visit. Interesting side show will be McDavid against his former Marlie mates Mckweon and Bennett

Great overtime win with a strong battle back after getting scored on 4 straight times and going from a 3-1 lead to being down 3-5. I really thought the Fronts had lost it - they were pretty listless at the end of the 2nd and the start of the 3rd for that matter.

I felt really bad for Bennett last night.

1st penalty
- hit from behind, which i didn't fully catch but thought it looked like a last minute turn by the Otter player
- Otters scored early on the PP
- Bennett has lonely skate back to the bench

2nd penalty
- marginal call on a stick infraction
- Otters scored early on the PP
- Bennett has lonely skate back to the bench

At least Gill threw him right back out there and gave him a bunch of PK time. I really like his ability to win the one-on-one battles along the boards and his drive for the net.

I've done a quick write-up of some notes on Fronts players for the Oiler board I frequent:

first OHL goal last night. a nice little wrister just over the right pad of the keeper. he's been solid defensively and is arguably the most physical d-man with Moffat.

I said that Gill's Coaching skills were very good but more so in that he's a great communicator and definitely knows the game. Watching him coach and actually paying attention to him last year and a little this year and he could easily be coach of the year. Just imagine he had 2 or 3 strong lines?

I'll probably end up going down to see a few games now (especially with the lockout).

I saw in the Whig Standard the other day that coach Gill has changed the lines around a bit. It will be interesting to see tonight as he has Kujawinski at center between 2 young gunns in Bennett and Watson.

Good OT win by the Frontenacs tonight.

The Petes seem to be playing with a bit more intensity.

Does anyone know where Matthew Watson is playing this year?
