you know what, that might be something to look into: multiple ownership. I know it doesn't happen in these games, but it might be the answer. Even in active games, there's always a handful of inactive teams (or not taken), and it sucks cuz you can't do any deal with them...

If we get like 15 really motivated GMs with two teams each, could it work ? There's the risk of "collusion", but 1) it's just a game 2) loopsided traded would be vetoed anyway... thoughts ?

I agree, because its true when 30 GMs join, there are always some that are inactive so really its like 15-20 GMs actually active. We can do that each GM gets 2 teams. Or we take those teams out and do a draft to get their players?

for the draft me 1972 and Steve Varlamov will just look at the needs of the unclaimed teams and we will pick like that everyone else can pick for their own team

Btw you said keeping things realistic, There is a realistic chance that the pens would trade a core player (not named crosby) for something significant.

So I think all trades should be considered, even with elite players
