No, no that's too little. How about RNH+Eberle+Hall+Yakupov+Paajarvi for OEL. That seems a lot more fair for a player of OEL's caliber.

BIG pass on Wideman. He's got some offense, but the defense of Marc Andre Bergeron. It's the reason he's been chased from Boston and Florida, and the reason Washington won't care when somebody offers him huge money.

Renny for Boudro. I want to see sticks and trainers flying on the ice once in awhile.

I want to trade Pääjärvi

Usually we are keeping our prospects and young gun to the point that they are career Oilers or they have lost their trading value.

We can't affor to keep going on this way. I want to trade Pääjärvi during the draft day because there are so many good defense men available. It has been openly spoken that Winnipeg's pick 9th overall is in play. Our 31st plus Pääjärvi may land the pick for us. Washington's pick is 11th.

He just does not have room in our top6. Maybe not in the top9

Hall RNH Yakobov/Hemsky
Smyth Gagner Eberle

We already have 2 lines that can score. One of our forwards in alredy extra attacker in the top6. What we need is big left winger to replace Smyth after next season. What I have seen in oilogsphere there is general concencus Pääjärvi is too soft to replace Smyth.

1) We have 32 not 31.--Winning the lotto just moves you up in the first round not the entire draft

2) If we make a move we need an NHL ready D-man and not someone we will need to wait 3 years for

3) Obviously at some point in time on of the kids will get moved--but right now I am leaning towards Gagner over MPS because we would get a better return

There is no way I would slot Smyth in on the second line right now, as much as I wish he could keep up his pace from the first 25 games he is just getting older and slower.

Appreciate the time to include the accents though haha.

The dump MPS crowd is gaining ground I see. If he was involved in a package to bring us a true nhl top player I could go for that. Anything less then No freakin way. Trade him and our 2nd rounder for a draft pick? Nuts.

Smyth is dead to me as of right now. He doesn't deserve to play with our young guys, and still play like ****. He's gone for all I care.

That's scary. I came on here to post that EXACT same trade proposal. I think if we added omark, it could get them thinking...

I don't think so. I'm guessing the Oilers pick will be anywhere from 5th-15th overall and I don't think Columbus would gamble on it being a lower pick because then they are getting a decent prospect, a decent but inconsistent skilled forward, and worst case scenario a mid first rounder for second overall. Never know though.

The addition of Smyth is one of the things that hurt Paajarvi's development last year (no power play time). Losing Smyth improves Paajarvi via addition by subtraction.

I'll also add, ANY deal the Oilers make to move our 1st round pick for 2013, better be followed by a VERY impressive July 1st...

I feel the same way about Gagner.

To the OP, what do you expect to get for Paajarvi?

How much would you give up for Nazem Kadri?

I don't want to trade Magnus.

I want him to be successful here. Just because he isn't developing at the same pace as two #1 overall's, and the wonder kid himself Jordan Eberle does not mean he is not going to be a good player.

Look at Adam Henrique for example, or most players in the NHL, it takes time to develop.

Let him develop, if its Radek Dvorak, or Jeri Lehtonen, take the time to see. He has size, skills, and a fantastic attitude.

Exactly. For better or for worse I also think they need to throw their fanbase a bone to keep them interested in the team, a lot easier to sell the 2nd overall pick than a collection of middling prospects/players and a pick in next years draft.

Obviously this year was somewhat troubling but this is one thing that can't be overlooked. If he was Omarkian about his demotion and handling then I would probably be on the ship him out of town train but it seems like he wants to grow with this young core and will do whatever it takes to do so and that goes for Lander too.

Of course if he was involved in a package for a top 4 dman I would be fine with that but no way am I packing him up with picks to move into the mid first round of a weaker draft.

For sure. That would be a HUGE factor.

It would be like going downstairs and telling your five year old on Christmas morning that Santa wont be coming until next year.

Couldn't disagree more. Paajarvi is developing just fine right now, and still has a great deal of untapped potential. Think about what he was like last year through the first few games - defensemen were ******** their pants when he was barreling down on the rush with that mix of size and speed.

Granted, once they found out they could keep him to the outside, it got easier to defend against him, but think about when he finally builds up that strength and confidence. The kid's got the skill and size for a top 6 role in the NHL. There's no reason to be giving up on him so early in his development.

And then your five year old decides to cancel his season tickets.
