Even if we got outplayed, we still got the best chance of the period on the 3 on 1, just didn't convert.

We definitely got lucky with the hit post.

No worries. We'll adjust our breakout for the 2nd period. Need to watch their D pinching hard.

Yeah this. It's a road game for the home team.

Also could CBC talk anymore about the Canucks? My finger is hovering close to the mute button.

Maybe it's just me but I'm not in agreement with a lot of the mood in this thread. Did you all not expect Vancouver, the top team all year, to not respond? Their backs are against the wall and they showed up as if it was the case. That's to be expected. You cannot replicate that desperation which is why the LA talk about not being overconfident was just talk - they were attempting to replicate a desperation you cannot replicate.

The good news is they weathered the storm. Vancouver came out strong and hard and couldn't score. Hopefully that demoralizes them a bit and gives the Kings legs some life. Time to turn the tables on the Nucks and return the favor.

Kings need to slow the pace down, seriously, the Canucks are just better when it's uptempo, they are better with the puck.

Not sure how it's showing up on TV, but the ice is absolutely the worst I've seen it. Soft as hell and the puck was just dying out there the last 6 or so minutes.

Kings having trouble clearing the puck out of their zone. Canucks forecheck is scary good. Kopitar not having a good game thus far. Noticed that the Kings not dishing out any hits. Schneider looks incredible and so does Quick. Expect a low scoring game that has a high probability of going into OT

Yes, Vancouver came out hard and deserved a lot of their pressure, but the kings were timid. They played hot potato with the puck. Nobody wanted it.

Kings were out of sync and it wasn't all because of vancouver's pressure. King and carter have got to want the puck more. Kings should have been firing from everywhere but they were trying to pass it into the net, as Sutter would say.

Kings are still lucky to be tied 0-0. Now they have 40 minutes to make team history.

Pretty much. I expected us to be down after 1.

But a lot of that has to do with Vancouver. They're playing loose and fast because they have to. They're not thinking, they're just reacting and letting experience take over. The reason? They're down 2 games to 0 and are on the road. They don't have a choice. They have nothing to lose at this point. While you'd love the Kings to have played better there, the history of the sport says we shouldn't have expected a ton different there.

That's not to say Kings players don't need to step up. King was indeed awful and Carter is playing like he's still in Columbus. But Vancouver was flying. If we were down 2 or 3 to nothing right now then the despair would be justified.

Exactly. I think weathering the storm we all knew was coming and coming out even was a win for us not for them. Lets go KINGS!
