Hagelin should have been suspended for his hit. I have no problem with a suspension but I am very surprised it was three because certainly, similar hits have gotten less or even a fine. The league is an embarrassment. A joke. No consistency, no reason. Shea Weber or any other 'star' = FREE PASS. This weekends games was the NHL at it's absolute worst...just a gong show.
Karlsson is awful at defense. He's basically a forward who plays defense.
Karlsson is a rover, essentially.

I already walked a few other people through it hand in hand. If you want to "figure it out", go and look in the other posts in this thread about the subject. I am done repeating myself.
Most of us knew he was getting suspended and rightfully so. What I'm personally upset with is the inconsistency as you mentioned. Carkner going after Boyle was pre meditated and Shanny even acknowledged in the video that he had a history. I don't see how that results in a one game suspension, I really don't. The Weber thing I already touched on earlier but that's just as ridiculous. Someone mentioned it too that the NHL usually goes by the one playoff game = two regular season games when dealing with suspensions. So that would be a six game suspension in the regular season which was worse than what Keith got and that was much worse IMO. I just want consistency and this goes league wide, not just for my team.
He has a history is the reason he got the 1 game.
Recall he was ejected from the game, we had to kill off a 5 minute major AND play an entire game (that went into OT) with only 5D.
That there is already a game or two equivalent suspension for the team.
Yes, Brian Boyle was being a complete tough guy when he administered that savage beatdown to Erik Karlsson. Everyone knows Boyle is a feared puncher who attacked poor Erik out of nowhere.
I'm actually surprised Erik was able to return to the series, considering the sheer power of the haymakers that Boyle was landing to his face.
I thought a concussion was imminent.
Obviously Karlsson has a steel skull. Because those brutal rabbit punches would have killed a lesser man.
Guys, take your anger out on Shanny's decisions (as weird as they've been), not Ottawa's players. And I mean...I doubt any Sens fan could even say a bad thing about Hagelin if they tried.
I also think it's about one or two games too many, but I'm guessing my rather moderate opinion of the affair will get lost in all of the pitchforks and torches activity going on.
One of your (Ottawa) mods said the same thing, and I posted in agreement with him. I thought 1 game was right, but I can see 2; 3 seems excessive to me. The Weber situation makes it hard to understand and justify, though.
But the Rangers have to just find a way to get the job done without him. Like someone said, if we can't get out of Round 1 without Hagelin, then we weren't going to make it that far with him.

He smells of pickled herring and just tried to kill our captain.

Eh, I'm not usually a pitchfork and torch guy, and I agree with your sentiments in regards to how this will play on the ice. But I feel totally justified in being furious about the ever maddening inconsistency of NHL justice.
