he also missed all of game 2 except for 39 seconds. I think they took that into consideration. It's effectively closer to a 2 game suspension.

Suspending him any further would deter anyone from sticking up for their stars and we'd only end up seeing more headshots and sucker punches.

Thats funny his position is defensman and he is up for the norris. 4th winger isnt a position, so yes he is a defensman and he is better than any on the rangers. Pretty simple logic.

How many games have you personally seen him play? And to account for the fact that you may have, how many other Ranger fans have? Right. That's what I thought.

And college is absolutely like debuting in the NHL playoffs.

But seriously, maybe make the point you want to make instead of throwing out a flippant comment that McDonaugh is better than a probable Norris finalist...

Hagelin's hit will be on the next DVD to show head shots.

3 games is a surprise, thought it would be 2, but it had to be penalized more than Carkner who got 2 with the game misconduct.

Hagelin - Young player = 3 games.

Weber - Veteran = pay $2500 fine.

0 Games

.
0 games.

White didn't even get kicked out for some reason.

I think the Hagelin suspension was 3 games because the league ****ed up on Wolski on Alfredsson earlier in the year.
Helluva time for a makeup call don't you think?

Yes, Boyle was lightly hitting Karlsson in the face, but I think it was a test. If Ottawa doesn't respond then it's okay to go after their star players. Now Carkner has made a statement that you don't touch his teams stars. A sort of you give them an inch, they'll take a mile thing.

That there is already a game or two equivalent suspension for the team.
Personally, I think someone that doesn't have a history only gets a game. Carkner's past should have gotten him more. Regardless of what you think of Boyle for turtling, you just can't throw punches and pound on someone like that when they're down.

I'm convinced Sens fans think Hagelin is some sort of 3rd liner or something. How would you feel if your 1st line LW with no history get suspended for 3 important games? I'm not denying its a bad hit..but this is just too much.

I agree, I would have given him 1-2 games, but saying that Alfie faked it, even though he missed half the game, is laughable.

I'm pretty sure every Non-Ranger fan in the world would take Karlsson over any dman on the Rangers. To even be making this argument is hilarious.

Insulting Karlsson's obviously immense skill only makes us Rangers fans seem delusional and completely unsympathetic.

Clearly he's better offensively than defensively, but Rangers fans should focus on discussing the actual suspensions.

I'm a Ranger fan and I'll admit that he is better than any of our defense man. Overall? No. But when a defense man can finish with 78-points and finish top-10 in scoring, who cares?

He shouldn't be compared to Brian Leetch yet. While Leetch was an offensive defense man, he was responsible at both ends of the ice, and hit a level that Karlsson hasn't hit yet. When Karlsson gets a few Norris's, a Conn Smythe, and over 1k points under his belt, then the legitimate comparisons can be made. That said, I love Karlsson.

Senators are actually my 2nd favorite team in the NHL. Always liked them. The only team that I'd root against them with is the NYR, and believe me, I'm ALL NYR for this, but I can definitely see the bright spots in their organization. That said, can't wait to knock the Sens out of the post season! To live in NY and have your second favorite team be OTT is pretty odd right?

Another Karlsson debate?

McDonagh is good, but he's not 10^100 thread Karlsson vs Pietrangelo worthy.

Yup. Three games in the playoffs for that, I've seen sucker punches right on the nose get a fine before. I am also shocked Carkner got suspended considering he missed all of last game already. What is a real cheapshot like Neal's gonna give then?

You can't be serious? Carkner a fine only? How is that open season? All it means is that when you punch a guy and he doesn't punch back, refrain yourself instead of continuing to sucker punch the guy and beat him while he is down and defenseless.

By only suspending him for 1 game, you promote gutless acts and attempts to injure. How can you be so blind to the truth?
