Alfie, we need you buddy... here's hoping for a quick recovery. You are this teams heart and soul. We also need you to talk to Spezza and Michalek. Spezza needs to relax, be the leader and Michalek needs to bring it.

They played good enough to win. Spezza didn't play his best game but the difference was a hot goalie. That's hockey!

If that report from the TEAM post game show is true than once again it shows the heart and character of THE Daniel Alfredsson. As much as I hate to say it, the doctors know what they are doing and it was likely the right call. They must have seen something that Alfie and the coaching staff didn't see. They are with the team and get paid for a reason.

The move to hold him out of the line up just screams precautionary as it may not have been worth to risk further injury. Another day or rest will be huge for him and I am sure he will be pushing himself hard tomorrow and on the game-day skate on Wednesday.

Haven't been much in terms of updates and it may stay that way, but I'd be absolutely stunned if Alfie didn't play on Wednesday.

That was our hockey vs the Leafs before the lockout - a hot goalie shutting us out completely when we outplay them.

Andy couldn't have played better than he did, which makes things worse because when he plays like that, we need to win.

We need to take a lesson from the Leafs losses and start playing hard at the net (at all times) and just look for tips and rebounds. With how many times these guys block shots, their bodies will wear and we'll get a fluky deflection a la Boston GWG last night and the Chris Neil OT goal in game 2.

We still have a great opportunity to come out of this series, just play hard boys!

As much as we needed him last night, this is for the best. He's 40, and I'd hate to see him suffer long-term consequences after he retires because he tried to tough it out for the team

concussions are scary

He's too much of a Jekyll/Hyde. One great shift followed by an absolutely brutal shift.

Gilroy is fine but Carkner has stage presence. The Rangers will keep their heads on a swivel behind the net when he is on, not so much with Gilroy.

I agree with this. The situation is way too drastic to try and fulfill some short-term gain. The guy's brain may be potentially BRUISED...save it for next season or game 6 at the earliest.

Setback? Not on the ice today? Ah crap!! That sounds pretty bad. I would have said the chances of him playing tomorrow before were at 90% but that was before I heard of any setback. That's a real tough break. Chances now may be down to like 60%

Why do you randomly make up %?

Bad news to say the least. To me if the league rules that the hit was intent to injure then the player who cause the injury should be gone for the same length of time. I doubt it is very often that the player who caused the injury and gets suspended is out longer than the injured player.

While I may have made up the % I am just making an educated guess that it was pretty likely he would return tomorrow since he was so close to playing last night and it would be another full day or rest. Now that we've heard of the setback it drastically brings down that high % and makes things a lot cloudier.

Pretty simple no?
