I think he hit him in the head on purpose, but I think it would be kind of jumping to assume that his thought process was "I'm going to injure this man". I'd imagine it was more of a split second bad judgement, but I still think he should be suspended for it, because it's a dangerous hit.

I really hope Alfie is okay most of all, though, I'd rather he be well and Hagelin not be suspended than Hagelin get suspended and Alfie miss the series.

Hagelin had his elbow higher than his own shoulder and was watching Alfie's head the whole time, you're an idiot if you don't think it was intentional

I dont even know what to say about this ****. If the ****ing rags just denied Alfie his lasy playoff run on a dirty elbow to the head that is just sad.

What is the news on how long he'll be out?

This is my fear too. I don't want this to be the end for him.

He means the Rangers will be pissed about losing Game 2 and came back with a vengeance.

I don't think he's referring to any kind of head-hunting.

Terrible hit. Hopefully he gets suspended.

It's amazing just how non chalant the league is towards these things.

If it hasn't been mentioned here yet, Alfie was confirmed to have flown home with the team last night.

That can be looked on as good news because if he had any kind of serious head injury, he wouldn't be flying so soon.

That sounds like good news to me. Hopefully he can suit up. I think they took him out of the game for the mandatory checks after hits to the head and for precautionary reasons.

My guess is that, given the point of contact of Hagelin's elbow, he may have a fractured jaw. May miss Gm. 3 but I don't think he's gone for long. This is Alfie, the guy who skated on one leg that year we lost in 5 to the Pens. Nothing will keep him away from this for long.

Don't know how much that matters from what I recall people thought the same thing after Sedin got nailed as I believe he flew right away.

From what I understand flying after a head hit is not really an issue.

It doesn't mean he's out of the woods but if there was a clear serious head injury involved and blatant concussion symptoms, you don't get on a plane within hours of the incident. That's just protocol for anyone, not just athletes.

Headaches and other symptoms can often appear days later which is what happened to guys like Sedin and Giroux. So Alfie could definitely be suffering from a concussion but him flying last night is a good indication that it's certainly not clear cut otherwise they wouldn't have let him get on a plane so soon.

Hagelin better hope he gets suspended because if he doesn't the Sens are going to deal with it themselves again. The Rangers know now what that's like.

I think Hagelin's intention was to hit Alfie, it was a conscious effort on his part, but I think the extended elbow was a subconscious reflex thanks to his intentions of hitting Alfie no matter what. His original intentions were not to headshot Alfie with an elbow, but the fact of the matter is that he did.

If he isn't 100%, he has earned the right to sit, as much as his leadership and production would be missed. Even with all the emotion around what may be his last playoffs, I don't want him to conceal a head injury in order to play, he's 39 and has the rest of his life to think about. I would not be even the slightest bit disappointed in him.

I just can't see a guy who suffered a concussion earlier this year coming back from that kind of hit and legitimately "feeling good".
