When reports came out before the game that Stache was not contemplating any changes to the lineup for game 2 I almost lost it. Did he really think the team didn't need to address what the Rags did to EK? I didn't post the worse of what I thought and its a good thing because Stache was being coy. By keeping his moves under wraps he caught everyone off guard. It turned out just as I had hoped except I didn't know Boyle was such a wuss.

I love when someone claims they "are not that type of player" after a dirty hit. If you werent that kind of player then you wouldnt have hit Alfie with your elbow.
Prust mugs Karlsson with no penalty and Turris takes a vicous cross check to the back after a goal.. clean as snow.

Actually, Torts basically said the same thing as MacLean.

It was quite remarkable seeing two guys very tight-lipped after one of the craziest games I've ever seen in the playoffs.

The only thing Torts mentioned was that Phlilips should get suspended if Hagelin does, which is your typical head coach post-season gamesmanship.

Torts played to cool and collected to do a major sales job to try and get the Phillips hit into the discussion.

I heard the Rags are putting in Scott next game.

I hope so. This guy is so bad, its hilarious. Konopka and Carkner have better hockey sense then this guy.

i have no problem with new york dressing more goons. if they wanna change the gameplan then it means we're doing a damn fine job.
hopefully we can dictate the pace and get the lead infront of our crowd. carrying the momentum of this OT win.

And were not playing on that **** at MSG known as ice. Their ice isn't even beer league worthy, there really needs to be some type of standard for the NHL on this.

Apparently we were lucky to win the game.

Let's hope we're lucky 3 more times.

Note to self: wear Leclaire jersey more often.

I'm 0-1 in my blank heritage. 0-way too many in my Z-Bad heritage. 2-for-12 in my Alfie red. A handful of wins with my Karlsson shirt. Another handful with my white Michalek-autographed blank. But the vast majority of wins have come with my Leclaire.

I switched to my white Alfredsson jersey for Game 2.

Old faithful from 2007.

I had my Karlsson jersey in game one but I was out with the boys for game two so I left the jersey at home. I think I'll have to keep it in the closet from now on, unfortunately.

I've decided my lucky Senator socks are not lucky after all.
Wore them for game 1, didn't for game 2.

White CCM jersey for both. Will switch to Black CCM for the home games though.

Game 6, if it happens I'm getting a Heritage jersey though at SBP (not one for putting names on the back though)

Karlsson was great last night, virtually perfect in the defensive end and he still managed to be quite strong offensively. What did he have, 10 SOG with 11 either blocked or missing and five hits? That's nuts. There were a couple instances where Lundqvist was down and Karlsson had a great opportunity to score. If he'd just hit the net he could have finished the game with three goals.

A couple people have been asking me about my post in that stupid "Karlsson vs Pietrangelo" thread on the main boards (god, I hate that pseudo-intellectual ***, Minimalist) where I said I didn't believe Karlsson was "anything more than average defensively." What I meant was Karlsson still needs to work on his consistency, and while he'll have outstanding nights defensively (such as tonight), he'll also have quite a few very rough outings. At the end of the day, it balances out, in my opinion, and if we average out his performances he's in the middle of the pack (which is not a bad place to be). That said, he's my favourite player in the NHL, and I'm very optimistic that he'll continue to improve his defense until he's one of the best overall players in the league. Look how far he's come already; it's his third year in the league and he's in the conversation for the Norris and even Hart, and has improved in every aspect each year he's been in the NHL.

Sorry to go slightly OT in the thread, but I felt badly for not explaining myself earlier.

I still can't get over how awesome last night's game was. Everyone was sticking up for each other, as Chris Neil said, like they were family. You've gotta love the playoffs.

Like Foligno mentioned in the post game interview, they really did come together especially after Alfie got injured.

This happened against the Rangers last time too -- when Wolski elbowed him we battled back and won in OT IIRC.

Was a great game to watch...though I was getting pissed off watching the Rangers intentionally try to injure a bunch of our guys.

Hope we can take this momentum and bring it home.
