Forsberg #2 is odd, but he deserves it. In my own strange way I get the feeling Burke would trade down before picking Grigorenko. Like the description for Anaheim's pick.

Fowler-Dumba
Beauchemin-Sbisa
Vatanen-Clark/Brookbank/Guenin/UFA

BRB .drooling.

Also don't see the Collberg/Skinner comparison. I'd say Collberg is an Andrew Cogliano type with better hands.

7. D Morgan RIELLY (6’0 – 190 lbs) Moose Jaw Warriors – WHL

With the arrival of top offensive prospects Mikael Granlund, Charlie Coyle and Johan Larsson, Minnesota will draft a perfect top 2 defenseman to go along with Jonas Brodin and Brent Burns.
Brent Burns plays for the San Jose Sharks.

No problem. Its a nice pick for them too. They have the forwards but what their missing is a defenseman who can bring the offense like Reilly. Minnesota has a nice future with him in the system.

If any team fears the "Russian" factor coupled with his perceived laziness stigma, there is a chance a few teams might go for a safer pick

Who's safer than Grigorenko? And there's 3 "Russians" in the top 5, go figure.

Just in terms of forwards beyond Nail

Forsberg and Galchenyuk(it might be perceived since he was born in the US that he will less likely run for big money in the KHL), throw in Murray then Grigs is 5th

Pass on the defense. Canes have a plethora of guys in the system under 25 that look like they have NHL futures if they're not there already. Faulk, McBain, Dumoulin, Murphy, Sanguinetti, Levi, Alt, Biega, Lowe... plus Pitkanen and Gleason under contract long term. I can't see them considering a dman in the first this year unless Murray somehow slides all the way down to #8.

Yep, him and Teravainen are the two I think are most likely. Faksa's the safer of the two and brings some much needed size, Teravainen has the huge upside and an almost Skinnerish type skillset.

Hey no real complaints if Grigorenko goes to the Leafs. Could see him slipping to 5 though at the same time could see him stay right there in the top 3. Will say about the declarations that aside from Yakupov going #1 I wouldn't guarantee anything.
