man i don't want to kill hags, he's been great but his elbow ****ing killed that brilliant shift. the rangers had amazing momentum at that point.
Yup, absolutely brutal penalty to take. The worst part is, I am pretty sure he was just trying to throw a nice check to keep the pressure on, and his arm just slid right up Alfie's in to his head. The kid obviously did not intend to go head hunting.

funny how these panzie ottowa fans go from wishing us a good series hoping for a good game from both sides, to growing a set because they squeezed out a win in overtime and talking **** about how tough their team is.
Everyone calm down. They needed DZ to score an own goal, Dubi to get ejected, and hank to lose his stick to BARELY WIN
Why is anyone worried?
We got this. Number one seed. Give this team some credit ffs
Because this kind of **** always seems to happen to the Rangers.
Ottawa has won something like 12 of their last 15 games at MSG...ALL the same way...take advanatge of the bad bounces and bad breaks. After a while, it's not luck. They know how to beat the Rangers at the Garden.
A loss like this can teach a young team some valuable lessons, and it will also be a good measuring stick of the team's willingness to battle through adversity.

To be fair, that was as tough and gutsy a win as a team could have on the road against a top seed.

It's getting annoying that we say this **** so many times throughout the season.

A lot of the post-lockout 1-8's have been 6 or 7 game series.
Good post. Every Rangers fan should've expected this to be a tough series. Only the foolish ones would expect it to be over in 4. Next game will show a lot about a young team's level of resilience.
Fwiw I would be very surprised if Hagelin got suspended.

I agree, but I still think the point holds. And also figure in that numerous players on the roster are a bit short on playoff experience, especially into the deep rounds.

so i'm assuming you watched the highlights only...anyone who watched the entire game along with the 3 period of game 1 knows there is plenty to be worried about.

How many times has the team come back after a tough "lesson learning" loss like this and played very well in the next game? Most times they have.
I think a lot of us (including me) forget we have a young team and for many it's their first time in the playoffs. I think Hagelin's hit epitomizes this -- he obviously wasn't trying to hurt Alfredsson but I think he got a little too emotional, tried to make a big hit, and next thing you know you got an elbow up and knocked the guy out of the game and are sitting for 5.
tough to lose this game in last 5 minutes. I hope Rangers will eliminate the mistakes in defense -allowing Sens easily cross the blue line, I have seen them doing that better at start of the season- and start passing better when moving from their D- a lot of pucks were just overturned because they could not pass right on tape.
