If the standard 1 playoff=2 reg season gms, then Shanahan believes Hagelin's crime more heinous than Keith concussing DSedin. Laughable.

How the **** can this happen. Shea Weber didn't even get a ****ing suspension.

So how many did Carkner get, 15?
Well, Weber plays on a small-market team. That's all you need to know there.

If Shanahan redeems himself for that terrible decision on Weber by suspending Neal and Asham for the rest of this series (and including a few regular season games if they get swept) and Carkner for the rest of the series, then I don't think it would be a bad decision. Of course he won't do that though.

Between Weber and Phillips this is so uncalled for. **** this league. ****ing joke.

Carkner had his hearing before Hagelin, so he gets away scot-free.

And it's not even close. The NBA is terribly run too. Football and Baseball are clearly the best. Their advertising is awful. The NHL should be the most popular sport after football.

I seriously can't wrap my head around Carkner getting nothing and Hagelin getting 3 games. I really can't. And Weber getting away with a fine. It is so absurdly inconsistent I have a hard time believing it.

Hagelin suspended three games. Burns - still no hearing (that I've heard). Explain that...

I'm telling you, theyre trying to screw us. Look at it all. Ian Walsh? and then the crap where all those missed calls screwed us, then a rookie's elbow slid up the arm. That's crap. 1 game at most. CK

Here are the sets of rules in the NHL.

1. Pittsburgh Penguins - #1
2. Star Players - #2
3. Rest of the League - #3
4. New York Rangers - Toilet

It's true.

This is our place to talk with our teams fans and there's most likely going to be a lot of homerism and rose-colored glass commentary. Just as I'd expect there to be on your board.

We can rant here and talk about how classless Ottawa is without having to fear repercussions for trolling/flaming your fans like we would on the mainboards because this is our "sanctuary".

It helps to vent and to say what's on your mind and a lot of us are annoyed/frustrated about what Hagelin did but even more that Ottawa dressed a goon over what (in the grand scheme of things) was such a minor altercation (Boyle giving Karlsson a few noogies).

Neil could've easily handled Boyle (and he did), but Carkner was just classless and dirty. Most of us are just annoyed we let that game get away from us when for all intents and purposes we had it in the bag. It was our game to lose and we lost it.
I know it is your place to talk, but we are in a series against each other. Hey, I don't mind NYR fans coming to our boards. It makes it interesting and like I said, hockey talk without immaturity.

I agree, great to vent and my point is we would both appear to be classless. You guys are checking out our boards as we are checking yours. For some to suggest a suspension for Hagelin, come on now. For me, it is as predictable as Sens fan loving the Boyle beatdown.

You know how this plays out when you turn the tables. It is the same. I was surprised at the intensity of the attack. Do you recall Scott Walker on Aaron Ward? Similar in being jumped and Ward drawing the penalty and getting his face crushed. No suspension, if I recall. Ward and Boyle both made decisions not to protect themselves. If the Rangers score 2 or 3 times, Carkner is the biggest loser to ever wear a Sens uniform. Instead, they kill it and he is now a cult hero.

3 games for Hagelin, meaning 6 regular season games, I find that in line with what has been dished out by Shanahan for that specific altercation. He is completely intolerant with those specific hits. I had a feeling it would have been 2 but being he messed up the Wolski hit earlier on Alfie, I think he made it 3.
