I just hope that Malkin doesn't try to go into "save the world" mode in this one. He needs to play simple, play hard, and play smart. Play Neal into open space and drive the net.

So, coming into this series, we were all

And then Philly won two, and we were all

And everyone else was so happy, and reading these boards was like

And then, on the way to Philly the team was like

Next thing you know, Flower is all

And the rest of the team is all

And Philly is all

And the haters are all

And Pens fans are all

Matt Calvert during a pre season game against the Blue Jackets in 2010. He also went with Voracek in the same game.

Just finished watching game 1 again.

You know what? The Pens played really well up until Briere's second goal. The second period, Philly got some momentum after the offsides goal, but the Pens dominated the last 5 minutes of that second. Their second PP chance in that period actually generated a bunch of chances.

Up until Briere's goal in the third, the Pens weren't really moving on offense, but Philly's best and only real chance was that shot by Carle that Fleury caught with the glove. It was only after that seeing eye shot that the team seemed to wilt.

I do not have the heart to study that second game

Hard to believe that just two games into the playoffs it's already do or die time for the Penguins. I'm so tired of watching the entire playoffs without them.

Win or lose it's been great chatting with you guys before/after/during every game. Jagrwatch, Sid's return (twice), the slump, the streak, it all comes down to this one game in Philly. Will be interesting to see this team play in desperation mode, but why couldn't it be a week or two from now? If there's any team in the NHL that can "flip a switch" I think it's the Pens, but they have to show a lot more heart than they have so far in this series. The arena is going to be rocking and the "Crosby sucks" chant is going to be raining down. Even if we lose this series it sure would be nice to send Philly's crowd home disappointed at least once.

Let's go Pens!

The Fred Sanford GIF may very well be the greatest GIF of all time. It's definitely the big one, Elizabeth.

I did the same thing the day after the game. They didn't play as poorly as a lot of people were saying. They had significant time in both the second and third periods where they dominated play. Bottom line is they lost in overtime and the Flyers were handed a goal. And yes, they collapsed at the end of the third, but I don't care what Bylsma and the players said after the game to keep morale up. They got jobbed. I don't think Disco would sing the same tune if something like that happened in today's game.

For YouTube videos its simple. From Youtube copy everything after the equal sign. Then take that click go advanced. Once there paste what you copied. Then highlight it and click the YT icon. It will surround the text you pasted with YT brackets and it should work.

Most of us were hoping for home ice, but it really looks like a big disadvantage throughout the NHL.

Quote:
With 15 games in the books, home teams have won all of five contests. None of the eight teams that opened with two games at home won both of them -- and two visiting teams, Philadelphia and Los Angeles, swept both games.

Translation: We've finally realized that it might be a good idea to play playoff hockey in the playoffs.

Sure its just talk but hopefully its a sign that they're acknowledging that they have to get back to playing defense first

Game plan.

Go down by 2
Call time out
Yell a lot during the time out
Don't take an actual lead in the game until the dying minutes
Win game
