Neither will return
They're just putting up a front
We have no cap room

(Unless the cap does rise, which I have my doubts about now.)

Does Lilja have another year? I think Carle is in the driver's seat. He will either get what money he wants from Phi or he walks. He knows Pronger is done.

Lilja will be back for one more year. hes on a 35+ contract. I dont want Carle back but unless he asking for 6 per he will be back. He will get overpaid too.
Kubina is off the books as well. He shouldnt be back.
I really hope I am wrong, but the Flyers are likely to overpay for someone in free agency, management appears to like Carle for some reason. I think hes back.

With Kimmo's regression, management probably has no choice but to bring Carle back.

He's the only other guy on the back end who can actually make a proper break out pass. He makes a lot of mistakes, and he will be overpaid, but I expect he'll be back next year.

sadly yes, and i hope kimmo's ego forces him to retire. He just looks like he is out of gas.

Just saw that Kimmo is only getting 3 mill next year. I wonder if that is enough to keep him interested.

I say Detroit gets Carle.. they will have lots of loot and he will fit in there. Even if the Flyers want to keep him I have a feeling we cant match what Detroit will offer

Timonen has played a lot of minutes this year and is probably hurt, but I dont think he retires early. Timonen retiring early would drive Carle's price up for the Flyers. I am not sure if I trust Holmgren not to cave in or not.
Kubina can walk. He is proving just how bad the trade was.

I think there is a difference between a bad trade and a trade not working out. At the time it was a good trade, didn't give up too much for a steady vet. However, I'm positive he tweaked something and was hurt/still is hurt. The trade looks bad now, but at the time I think it was good.

Having watched Kubina when he was in Toronto, I never understood why Homer would go for him and give up as much as he did. What a waste.

"Experience" was the real reason. I guess Jody Shelley was losing credibility since he can't get on the ice.

If Matt Carle signs with Detroit, that will completely blow a lot of minds on this board. For as revered as Ken Holland is, surely he wouldn't go out of his way to spend big money on a defenseman who doesn't know which way is up, right?

A turnover in the defensive zone right to a super star. Nothing he could do.

I hope every knows I'm kidding.

CBC said he
A: should have been out further = hits him in his body.
B: caught the puck, instead of fumbling it into his net.

completely un-screened shot form above the circles.

Alexander Ovechkin is an NHL superstar, a premier goal scorer who once scored 50 goals. His shot is a cannon. Terrible turnover in the defensive zone by the Rangers. Can't blame Lundqvist there.

Again, emoticon not needed, right?

CBC did.

he was too far back, no screen, shot above circles & he flubbed it [as opposed to he never saw it, it was too close, never had time to react]
