Got down on his knees whenever there was a break in play. And perhaps most telling: he stopped a few long dump in pucks behind the net without trying to play the puck at all, just left it for his defensemen. That is the total antithesis of his normal puck handling style.
I noticed that too. He was pretty wobbly and my first thought was that he was really making himself play it out, b/c if LOL came in we might as well give it up. When that puck came in and he did nothing about it, I thought that he was a bit more shaken up/hurt than he wanted to let on.

Shaw is a repeat offender when it comes to headshots on goalies. His hit on Jonas Gustavsson is much worse imo. He had so much time to stop but saw an opportunity to hit Gustavsson and went for shoulder to head. He knew what he was doing there and he knew exactly what he was doing when he went to hit Smith.

Yep, I thought he was a choir boy from what the media from Chicago was saying. Guarantee if the roles were reversed there would be a media storm brewing. The advantage and disadvantage of following a small market team: absolute fun but zero respect!

who knows, the coyotes could have an extra gear, and it's going to be used if Smith is injured in any way. I'm hoping Smith plays tomorrow and they just decided that Smith could use the extra rest. He's a stud between the pipes, he doesn't need practice right now.

Looking forward to our boys sending a message tomorrow night though.

In my opinion now is not the time to get caught up in sending messages unless that message is we're focused and plan on winning this series. They need to be mentally strong here and not lot the adversity get to them.

Seems to be the consensus among comments I'm reading all over the internet.

Smith, Hanzal, and Korpi did not practice with the team this morning before they headed to Chicago.

Blackhawks update: The Blackhawks will be without rookie center Andrew Shaw who received a suspension for colliding with Coyotes goalie Mike Smith in Game 2. Shaw has been a pest for the Coyotes so far. He also leveled winger Radim Vrbata in Game 1. The Blackhawks debuted new lines at Monday's practice. Notably, they moved Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa to the second line and brought up Viktor Stalberg and Patrick Sharp to play with captain Jonathan Toews on the first unit.

Why not give Pogge a chance if Smith can't go. How did he play in the AHL? He was once a highly touted prospect, and let's face it, he can't be worse than LOL.

Somebody was clearly hurt. We are waiting to find out how badly, and if he can play the next game.

You came to the Coyotes board. If you want to move on, why did you come here?

No, no. WE are going to do whatever we'd like. YOU can go ahead on back to your own team board.

Can't imagine why Chicago fans are complaining at this point. If Smith plays, they keep Shaw. If he doesn't we have to play LOL. If Smith dived, which I don't think he did, but is possible, than Chicago got it's karmic revenge already in Game 2. If he is hurt, we lose the better player.
