after taking in yesterdays big win. The game monday is huge if we can win. After that we have 2 full days rest at home. If we can use the home crowd and the momentum we gained in the double OT win in game 3 we could be sitting nice before geting some rest before another big home game

I'm getting the stretch run Buffalo game vibe for some reason. They play more aggressive at home but their discipline often goes whack. Hope I'm utterly wrong.

My older brothers' made the trek to Boston for game two. I asked one of them to write down their experience, so I'll post it later once they do.

I think we did not. Someone posted in the GDT, they thought we did a little. And he may be right and I am fine if we did.

I didn't see us under siege at least. Alzner hinted about opening it up a bit more in a pregame tweet. We can only speculate about playing with a lead in the 3rd, was what he was talking about, though.
I don't think I've seen Dale go into a 3rd full on trapping with only a 1 goal lead. He only does that with 2+ goals above the other team from what I recall.

IMO Laich and Lucic each sitting for 2 minutes is a win for the Caps so I was ok with it...

#Caps Hunter on if he thinks the #Bruins are targeting Backstrom's head "Oh yeah"

Goes without saying.

That sounds right. I certainly didn't see much trapping but figured the intermasses would have an answer - thanks.

Hooray for Dale saying the B's are targeting Nicks head. Keep saying it, and saying it louder. Work the system the way so many other coaches and cough, owners, do.

For such a big tough team it's unbelievable how much the big bad Bruins go running to the media whenever anything happens.

To bad Big Ersk hasn't played in a couple months, I'd love to see him pound the **** out of some Bruins

We have a soft defense. I don't know if Erskine is injured or what, but it was inevitable the punk ass B forwards would be mixing it up with our dmen. I don't think anyone was expecting us to turn the other cheek all series long. With the Pitt series leading the way, I am bummed George and Dale didn't see last night coming. When the refs even up calls and whatnot, or flat out just flip a coin to make calls, you mind as well stand up for yourself. Otherwise you get frustrated and take a dumb penalty anyways. Coin leading the charge out of the trench. Charg.... Ha.

That said, Erskine is the one best suited to stand up to their Neader. Tool that beak of his again. That is his role on our team, take out that type of player. But the Sarge love is unwavering, and it finally caught up to us. But in years past, when Sarge stumbled, his injury was announced, the change made. Let's see what happens this time. Orlov may not be best suited to take on the B's or Luke, but I would pay money to watch him really get a good hit on their muff diving Pinocchio.

In before the inevitable "and Dale Hunter knows all about targeting someone's head" comments.

Well, I was just going to add, I am not sure Dale is the Caps best spokesperson for this.

I'm certain if that Marchand ****ed with Orlov even a little bit Orlov would hip check the hell out of him. A little **** like that remember Downie? Practically hip checked him out of the division

After reading through the playoff board for awhile i have concluded that Karl Alzner and Niklas Backstrom are two of the dirtiest players in the NHL.

Lucic so far in the series - 0 friggin' points.

Alzner is getting the best of him where it matters, plain and simple. And Lucic is frustrated because of it. Of course he is a god damned baby, he's trying to start crap because he can't get past Karl and John.

Unfortunately the refs would give him a random clipping penalty.

Hasn't been for as long as I remember. Easily should have been a PowerPlay as well

Here are the lines I think the Caps should try out for game 4 (Assuming Backstrom can play)

Ovechkin-Laich-Perreault
Johansson-Backstrom-Semin
Chimera-Beagle-Brouwer
Ward-Halpern-Knuble

Hamrlik-Green
Alzner-Carlson
Orlov-Wideman

Holtby
Neuvirth/Sabourin

yeah I really have no idea why the Bruins have been able to get away with so much crap before and after whistles, and the refs do nothing in Boston, but last night they threw coincident minors around like they were keeping things civil...if anything it made it worse!

The coincident minors just let Lucic know, "If you start something, it will actually benefit your team, by pitting you guys 4-on-4."

So dumb by the officials in my opinion. They let Lucic and Marchand run the calls that game.
