Tonight proved to me that the Pens are the biggest disgrace the NHL has seen in a long time, i was unsure before but now it's confirmed. Some of the levels they stooped to including trying to take out Giroux's head was pitiful.

Crybaby is also one of the most overrated players of our time and gets more favourable treatment than just about anyone.

I think the funniest part of the Sid I don't like him is that he can't even say it without his voice cracking

This will be a terrible collapse for the Panthers. I don't envy their fans.

I don't feel bad. Few good ones that took this season for what it was (heck of a lucky run where they outperformed). But many feel they're better than they are and weren't shy.

Andrew Gross ‏ @AGrossRecord
"...However, we are thoroughly perplexed in the ruling's inconsistency with other supplementary discipline decisions that have been made..."

Seriously...

Man, i'd be so scared of him.
It kind of reminds me of what Marchand said after punching one of the Sedins repeatedly. Wasn't it something like "I felt like it?"

You do kind of have to wonder what the Pens were inviting re: Crosby...

Seems they didn't think it through at all. Honestly they would have been fine if they stopped after Asham, as they did for a while. Would have been forgotten by next game completely. With Neal's antics at the end however there's zero chance they're not leaping at Crosby's noggin every chance they get on Wednesday.

Blindsiding Couturier, Laviolette making a point by putting his non-fighting guys out, and then blindsiding Giroux in the next shift is the most purely gutless move I have seen in my life, not necessarily by outcome but by ********* level. I expect the Flyers are extremely livid.

I'd bench Giroux, call up Shelley and Sestito and just have fun the next game testing how much Crosby and Malkin have really healed. Then close it out for real at Consol in front of the Pens fans.

So if the Sens somehow upset the Rags, Caps beat Bruins, and Panthers beat Devils we face the Panthers in round 2.

The discipline is ridiculous.

1 for jumping someone and repeatedly beating him, 3 for a hockey play gone bad. Nothing for trying to bash a players head through the glass.

What it all shows, again, is intent doesn't matter, just results.

I think that these supplemental discipline rulings have been completely consistent with the complete lack of consistency in supplemental discipline rulings.

Jesus. I must have like NHL-reffing-PTSD or something. I really can't shake the feeling that the Pens are going to storm back in that series on a primrose path paved with bogus penalties.

Did any Caps fans think they would out-win and out-last the Pens in the playoffs?

Just saw the thread showing the incidents.

What a little ***** 87 is. Seriously. And I like Neal, but if I played in that game he would have had my stick in his mouth.

Edit: and once again I'll never understand how a steeler fan could like that pens team.

Yup. I didn't think i could hate Crosby anymore than i did.

But man did you miss a first period. Not just the scrums... was just an amazing period overall. Briere was awesome.

What a ****ing hit.

These playoffs, man. You either self-police or you will wither. Punk teams will go nowhere. Have to wonder when that tone creeps into the Boston series.
