HunterHockey looking good (for once) in the playoffs, Penguins on the verge of getting swept, Canucks on the verge of getting swept...

0.00000% of the World's population predicted this.

Opposite da... year.

I get the feeling no one in Vancouver cares anymore.

S1ds crackling voice I don't like him

I hate it when jail baits biotchy whining high pitch voice makes an appearance.

Oh yeah somehow I expect it will be only the Flyers paying the price. How dare they take exception, at home no less. Hartnell exciting the crowd, suspend him.

I like that the Philly arena showed the replay at the arena of the Neal hit. Something you won't see done at Verizon.

It was an amazing weekend of hockey. Enjoyed every second I had a chance to watch. What's happening to Vancouver and Pittsburgh is astounding. Emotions are running sky high for these games.

Not that you care but... I grew up in southern/central PA.

Football: Love the Steelers, like the Eagles, hate the Skins/Ravens
Hockey: Love the Caps, like the Flyers, hate the Pens

Go figure...

I'm not Sasha... I really don't give a ****.

My pens' fan friends are happy Sid "dropped the gloves". And maybe "he needs to go back to whining with the refs"....

I don't really know where to talk with them

I live more towards the Philly side of South Central PA, but would not be the correct characterization for the area.

Yeah but unless the Flyers shape up their D, etc they aren't getting near the Finals. They're up 3-0 but they're lucky the Penguins have been in total meltdown, it's diverted attention away from their own shoddy performance in goal and on defense.

Loved the postgame interviews with the princess though. True leadership and another fine example of what an overall majestic hockey presence he is. What a gutless, whiny loser.

I live in south central PA. My fandom goes something like this..........

As a Kid:

Hockey: Broad Street Bullies, Montreal Canadiens, Caps, Hershey Bears
Football: Denver Broncos
Baseball: Baltimore Orioles

As a non-Kid:

Hockey: Washington Caps, Montreal Canadiens, Hershey Bears
Football: Philadelphia Eagles
Baseball: Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, Nats

Pittsburgh teams are out for me because I know many a folk from Pittsburgh and that's my antagonizing tool against them - sports! And right now with the Pens' dilemma it's a very useful too even though I'm not a Flyers fan either.

Not even the great Lemieux can pull this embarrassment from under the PR bus.

Awesome. I watched the game on NBC and then saw a replay of the violence that was from the TSN broadcast. It was pretty remarkable how different their interpretations of the first Neal hit were. Pierre noted that Neal had left his feet and thought the hit was pretty dirty, while Ray Ferraro never so much as implied that the hit wasn't clean. Ray Ferraro is obviously a moron and a huge ******, but Neal clearly left his feet completely on that hit, and probably made contact with the head.

Whether he left his feet or went for the head or not you can't just run over a guy who doesn't have the puck and hasn't had the puck for a while. You could have the most legal hit in the world but when it is that late you have an issue.

That wasn't how the tone came off to me. Ray Ferraro, whom, I cannot reiterate enough, I absolutely hate, focused mainly on whether Neal had seen him or not, as if any reasonable person would have questioned that. It sounded like Steckel-Crosby. I don't think he emphasized "had" like that at all. He may have used those words, but his tone was much more reserved. It was ridiculous.

P'O'd at my financial adviser. Had me invest in a ply-wood sheet manufacturing plant just outside of Vancouver.

Well.. when it comes down to it, I think the only potentially irreparable effect for the Pens here is their reputation. I feel for decent Pens' fans, it's not fun to try being a fan of a franchise that everybody thinks is a damn disgrace.

But as far as their roster, I think they can remodel very effectively if they choose to do it. They have a bunch of players that even if they sour on, they'd get big returns for, I think. So they could do a Flyers-type insta-rebuild and come out better than ever. And Shero might have made mistakes in hindsight, but he ain't dumb, so I'm a bit afraid actually that he might pull it off.

I don't agree. They don't have much coming off of the books come July 1, (Asham, Sullivan, Brent Johnson, Richard Park and one or two others). Their pending UFAs are all the lower salary types, so they're not moving any high salaries and their defense is staying the same. If they are going to move some players and hope for a good return it would most likely be a Staal. They're certainly not going to move Malkin, Crosby and Neal.
