If you're still referring to jury duty, then I agree.

It was damn hot yesterday.

Jury duty starts at the end of Aug. goes on for 3 weeks..so the summons tells me... Just in time for it to ruin my happiness of my kids going back to school..

If you refer to jury duty as Disney World, you don't have to do it.

Ask them if they can have the trial outside since it's such a nice day.

New sports station has launched today. 98.7 The Fan (FM) .

Dingman hosts the morning block with another dude so thats cool.

Heres the hosts. http://tampa.cbslocal.com/show/meet-...ts-of-the-fan/ .

Cool to get another sports radio, especially on FM waves finally.

Businesswise, this move was great. But personally for me, the sad thing is, I liked 98.7's pop format more than the other stations in the area. I also liked 102.5's music format and then they nixed it for talk.

I'm afraid to find a new favorite station. It'll probably get deep-sixed, too.

Oh, and why does virtually every sports station call itself "The Fan" anyway? Can't they think of something else more original?

I forgot about 101.5 The Point. I liked that station, too. Then it went to Hot 101.5. So that is three stations I have liked since moving down here that have had a format change.

No joke, I almost smashed my radio the day I got into my truck, hit preset to 101.5, and heard rap instead of 80's music.

This about sums up my reaction.

Orlando had two rock stations in 2008. O-Rock and WJRR.

WJRR was the 'harder' of the two stations, and while they're was quite a bit of overlap between the two, I preferred the the more 'mild' O-Rock. WJRR tended to play more ****, while O-Rock stuck closer to it's 90's Alt Rock roots.

Until they reformatted without warning.

Now they're Sunny 105.9!

If I was in my car more often, I would get SiriusXM again, but given it is just an hour a day, I can't justify the monthly cost for it. Unlike back when I was in Ohio and there was no good rock station that came in clearly in my area, combined with the fact I was on the road a lot.

So where do you go for the rock fix now?

I spent 10 days roaming Michigan State University on my annual Boy Scout summer trip. I roamed freely through the Munn Ice Arena and got pictures of Ryan Miller's Hobey Baker and some pictures on the walls of such stars as Anson Carter, Brian Smolinski and Steve Guolla.

Then someone dropped a pallet of bottle water on my toe. I did discover that drinks are very inexpensive in East Lansing.

On the flight home from Detroit, Adam Hall was in first class.

You lucky *******. If there had been a penalty during the flight, he would have known how to kill it.

Major dental surgery this Thursday. Three wisdom teeth and five impacted/crushed teeth all being extracted, with bridge work and replacements as needed planned. That's eight total teeth, thanks to a combination of being jobless for the past three years and no insurance, and the wisdom teeth growing in and functioning as garbage compactors crushing everything in their path.

Looks like I'm going on a liquid diet for a while.

Making a PB&J sandwich with a spoon instead of a knife is a lot easier than you think.

So, I was scheduled to get eight teeth pulled today, five on the left side (top and bottom combined), three on the right. An area on the left lower side will also have an implant/bridge as well.

I woke up in the middle of it. Sedation didn't keep me asleep. I was all jittery as well for some unknown reason. My upper body was calm but I had restless leg syndrome. Yeah, not cool. So they stopped after the left side, and I need to go back for the right side to be finished at a later date.

Now, I didn't wake up in pain. That wasn't an issue. But I am the type who needs more meds than normal for effectiveness. If the average dosage for something is 500mg, my wife can get by on 250mg, but I need 1000mg. Just how it is. My sedative procedure needed to be doubled, BUT, that is risky and can be fatal, so we did what we had to do.

I am currently not in pain at all right now. I am hopeful that this continues. I really thought I would be in bed all day today in pain. But I came home, slept a while (not from the procedure; my job has me on a 4a-12p sleep schedule, and it was interrupted), and when I woke up, I was fine. If this continues, and I don't regress on Friday, it'll be great. I'm on a soft food diet but I got a lot of good stuff to eat so I am not suffering there.

So I go back for a followup next Friday, go from there, and everything will be just fine. Then again, I suffered through the pain for nearly a year, and it was something I would not wish on anybody, so to survive that, this is freakin' relief, I tell ya!
